Hi all, i am starting the Juddd diet today so I find it always helps to write things down, even if no one reads it, it really helps me ;)
Why Juddd well I did various diets last year inc TFR which I found fairly easy to stick to but only short term, I enjoy my food !! So to me this diet offers a sort of mix of 'normal' and diet. I have sachets of shake left so will use them on my down days. According to the Juddd website I can have 420 cals on a D day and 2200 on an up.
I weighed in this morning and as you should weigh after a D day I will weigh every Sat morning.

I aim to do D days on Mon, Wed and Fri and Sun will be a halfway house sort of day. I am hoping that being on a diet for only 24 hours at a time will be easier to maintain, well heres hoping anyway:p

Mon D day allowed 420 cals
milk 100 cals (for my tea)
Atkins bar 146 cals
Heinz M.strone soup 128 cals
2 litres of water. 0
Total 374 cals

Up day today :D
Yesterday went really well, did feel a little hungry before bed but a cuppa sorted that out ;)
Strangely I thought I would be famished this morning but I am not, will have something when I am hungry.
BTW the only exercise I will be doing is walking back and fore to school, uphill all the way back, its only a mile round trip but pushing the pushchair up the hill def gets me sweating
I can't do anything more physical as I have a pelvic problem but any exercise is better than none;)
Total cals 1800

Hi Jo, Just had a quick look thro' your history...and do hope that you will find this particular choice of diet a winner.
It's so hard to keep up with the dieting ritual isn't it? Keep at it as I am sure you will feel soo much better for it.

I have found listening to the Paul McKenna CD very helpful in getting to grips with eating slower and less and, most of all, relaxing as we can get so up tight when things don't go as we think they should and that is not condusive to helping the weight to come off.

Wishing you all the very best in your journey..... :)

Awww thanks, I have tried a few havent I :D
I don't think any diet is perfect they all work its just finding something that you find 'easy' and can keep the weight off long term with. Have lost 5 stone in the past and maintained for 5 yrs so I know its possible just need to try harder ;)
Have heard good things about Paul M. Maybe worth a listen to

Up Day today yipee, strangely I don't feel as hungry first thing on ups than I do on Downs, maybe its more psychological?
Felt hungry a few times yesterday but it got easier as the day went on and I was really looking forward to today, knowing its only a day at a time makes it easier to stick to. I agree with the JUDDD website when it advises using meal replacement shakes or bars as they are designed to make you feel full whilst giving you nutrients etc as well, I know I could eat more frequently with low fat yogs and fruit and veg etc but do they help you stay feeling full , not sure so on down days I am going to stick with meal replacement shakes or bars for lunch then a nutritious soup for supper, last nights lentil made me feel nice and full and it was lovely.
Not sure what I am eating today, just had toast and jam for brekkie but am out over lunch so maybe I will just have a nice big supper , we will see ;)
Total cals for the day 1800

D day today :sigh: woke up hungry again today , which is a right pain when you know you are on a D Day, bought myself some flavoured water today to try and up my fluids, I really struggle drinking water. I am doing a little experiment today, I said yesterday that the shakes make D Days easier as they keep you full, but I am going to test that theory by having a Dairylee Dipper today for my lunch 120 cals and I love them so I am looking forward to it but how long will it keep me 'full' we shall see, going to try and drink the whole bottle of water today (1.5 litres) and have a soup for supper, weigh in tommorow so that should keep me on the straight and narrow. I really hope I see a loss as I really don't feel any different?

milk 100 cals
dairylee dunkers 120 cals
Tin veg soup 188
fl water 30 cals
total = 438 cals

see you tomorrow morning for the weigh in :wave_cry:

You're doing really well so far :) Flavoured water is an absolute god send, I find plain water really boring. I hope you enjoy your dipper :D You're bound to have lost weight since your cal intake has been lower than normal, that's the beauty of JUDDD. You've only been on the diet for a few days before you weigh in tomorrow, so if you haven't lost as much as you would like to, that's probably why. You're being sensible on your down days which is great, for a few of mine I used my cals on donuts lol How much would you like to have lost by tomorrow? xx

You're right the flavoured water has really helped me today, I had lime and lemon flavoured and I could have drunk 2 bottles instead of just one ! In an ideal world I would love to lose 4lbs but I know its not a full week so I would be happy with 2 but gutted if any less,, not long to wait to find out now. You are doing brilliantly there is nothing quite like the big losses you get on a TFR is there ;)

You are doing brilliantly there is nothing quite like the big losses you get on a TFR is there

I've never had any losses like this before, when I was trying to lose weight before I was losing about 2lbs a week, which was ok but it was just taking so long, when you've got a lot to lose, 2lbs a week is enough to drive you crazy lol I've struggled a bit today, found it hard to resist chips earlier, but managed to resist...somehow!

Mmmm lime and lemon, lovely, I've only got strawberry at the mo, Tesco own brand, 6 cals in the whole bottle :D a 2lb loss in a few days would be a great loss :) x

Well I can't quite believe I am writing this but I have lost an amazing 7lbs :D Had to check 3 times before I would believe my eyes, I really thought I was going to be disapointed beacause I don't feel any different, but I am over the moon!!
I am having 2 up days now but am going to try to be 'good' tomorrow, my Down days will only ever be Mon, Wed and Fri, it may slow me a little but I know It will be easier for me to stick to if I give myself free reign at the weekends ;) and it says thats acceptable in the book ;)
If I can lose 2lb a week from now on in I will be more than happy :)

Wowwww 7lbs is sooo good!!!! Well done! Enjoy your up days, well deserved methinks :D x

Up day yesterday and today, ate loads yesterday total 2000 cals
Will be about the same today so total for today will be 2000 cals
Not feeling bad about it being a down day tomoorrow in fact I am looking forward to my flavoured water which I am keeping for Down Days so its a sort of treat lol , see you tomorrow x

Sounds like you've had a very tasty weekend lol x

Hello and well done on your first weeks loss :) can i ask what were u eating on your UP days?/ were u eating healthy? or eating what u wanted? x

Hi Danii, basically you can eat whayever food you want, according to the JUDDD website calculator I can have 2200 on an up and 426 on a down, to be honest I have been having about 1800 because thats been enough. Its hard to explain but on an up day you don't feel as hungry, I thought I would be eating everything in sight just because I could, but it hasn't been like that. I think part of it is that you are more aware of what you are eating cos you have to be sooo careful on your down days?
On a typical up day I will have toast and jam for brekkie, 300 cals, lunch will be a ready meal or a sandwich and some quavers etc about 400 cals, a couple of biccies with afternoon tea 100 cals, I tend to have ch curry and rice or pasta or boiled pots and something usually about 800 cals (which includes a weight watcher dessert) and then about 150 for milk for my cups of tea
So I eat plenty with calories to spare.
Last night we were having ch curry and my OH was having chips and I could have had them but I asked myself did I really want them and I didn't so I had a Jacket instead!!!
Down day today after my experiment on fri , I found that I felt fine after having my Dairylee Dunker so for lunch I am having 5 crackerbreads (100 cals) with 2 laughing cow triangles light (25 each ) spread on them yum yum and still only 150 cals!
Today
milk 100 cals
c.breads/cheese 150 cals
c.breads/cheese 150 cals
fl.water 30 cals

todays total 430 cals

Up day today, hooray!! Just had a large brekkie of toasted buttered fruit bread, about 500 cals, visiting my Dad in hosp this pm so won't be around for lunch but will have something nice for supper yum yum.
Well I am well over my 2200 cals today, my dad gave me a choccie bar at the hosp which of course I ate , out of politenes and the fact I had no lunch, then I had not so much a large supper but a calorific one, ham and cheese grills, new pots with butter loads of french bread and to top it all a big fresh cream Muffin, whilst watching the biggest loser!!! I felt very guilty, w will see what that does to any weight loss this week???
