    Susie's judddering diary

    Afternoon all

I'm Susie, 50, with a cat as my dependent. It's the usual story, I've been eating rubbish for years and not exercising, and steadily put weight on until I realised that if I don't do something I'll need to be airlifted out of the house - not the sort of fame I want!

After two years of trying low carb, falling off the wagon, going awol, trying again (you all know this cycle, I'm sure ), I have decided to try JUDDD, buoyed by successes by a few friends here. Low carb is great, but it's pretty unforgiving, and I get double the totm - one a month is more than enough, thank you!

I've been reading your diaries and will get the book this week, but am sure I will still have lots of questions and will rely on your experience to keep me on the straight and narrow

Thanks to my size, I'm on what seems fairly generous cals - 504 DD, 2520 UD. I don't work Mondays so thought I'd start on UD today and have time to make up soups and shakes for tomorrow. I'll be putting menus on MFP and you are all welcome to cruise by and make sure it looks OK - my handle's ladyfelsham (so original lol).

Look forward to chatting with you - and if the Atkins forum is anything to go by, making lots of new friends

    Thx Karen

I haven't gone mad today - yoghurt, eggs on flax toast, and green chicken curry for dinner - although I have been googling pizza calorie values - I love food porn!

I'm trying to eat unprocessed stuff as much as possible, and just made up a lovely quick soup for tomorrow - 3 courgettes simmered down, then I added a Knorr herb infusion pot and blended it smooth - smells fab and it's 101 cals! Happy days

I also have a fab new kitchen toy called a Lurch Spiralo which makes veg spaghetti - so may well have more courgettes this way, with a roasted tomato sauce, for dins. Yum!

Got loads of mushrooms to use up too, so time to see if I can find a low fat mushroom pate.

Good morning and welcome, sorry I must have missed this yesterday x Anyway welcome to our little corner of minimins, we are a small but friendly group and there is usually someone around to help with any questions you may have so ask away. Remember the key to the diet is the feast and famine principal, eat your UP day allowance and enjoy it, I know its difficult for some but its part of the diet and one of the reasons why it works, also DD s are key, make sure you do your best to stick to your allowance and it should work well for you, good luck with your first DD it may be tough but its only a day, they do get a lot easier I promise, good luck , Jo x

Thanks all - appreciate the advice and support

Managed to use up my UD cals yesterday, thanks to wine consumed during the match - probably not the best start, but hey ho

I'm really interested to see how I get on today. I do think the idea of feast/famine might work for me, it seems so flexible. I tried a VLCD but lasted one day because the thought of being THAT hungry forever made me feel utterly miserable - I just don't know how people do it, fair dues to them!

I never like eating first thing but I do feel a bit hungry now it's midday, so am just about to finish my second litre of water, and then have my homemade soup - three courgettes makes a lot!

    B - none, just liquids
    L - courgette soup - 100
D - courgette spaghetti and homemade tomato sauce - 169
S - mushroom pate (just mushies boiled down and pureed with extra light mayo) and lambs lettuce - 69 - and a Weight Watchers hot choc drink - 40

Gives me a total of 410 - so I have 90 cals up my sleeve I don't have a huge sweet tooth and actually don't have any snacky food in the house - but might have half a tin of tuna and some more salad if I get hungry later, as evenings are my worst time.

I know it sounds like a lot of courgettes in there but I just can't get enough of them at the moment!

Please feel free to critique or point out anything - and look forward to getting to you all better
    Susie

    Thanks

Can report back that the courgette soup was lush, there was enough for 3-4 bowls and it was so simple to make. Can see it appearing regularly on DDs

Am now on courgette spaghetti with tomato sauce - part 1! I've been breaking the portions up into smaller ones so I can graze when I feel peckish, which feels like the best way forward

All lovely grub - but is it wrong to start daydreaming about tomorrow's food?

    Thanks ladies

Been a good DD, but couldn't eat more than 1/3 of the mushroom pate, was full!

I do feel a bit light headed - is that normal when you start out?

Anyhoo, time for an Options. Have a good night all

    Morning all

Had a lovely sleep, still felt a bit woozy this morning and not at all hungry, but am having a breakfast sandwich now because I've got a marathon meeting coming up. thought it would be really difficult to get my cals up to 2500 today but was horrified to see how many cals there are in shop bought stuff!

Cheese salad for lunch, and lamb with lemon oil and spinach for dinner, with berriesd and yoghurt for afters.

    Have a great day, everyone!
