Linda's JUDDD Diary...

I started JUDDDing last Wednesday and I moved from SnS over to JUDDD as the not eating was driving me nuts and all I ever thought about was food. I lost 5 stone 3 years ago and put some of it back on, last December I was quite ill and put 2 stone on in a month, despite not overeating and eating less at Christmas than I ever have, so thats the 5 stone back on. I have since been diagnosed with ME and inflammation, but I am determined to lose this excess weight, even though I cannot exercise much.... I started with SnS at the beginning of July and lost 17lb up until last Wednesday. I am going to do alternate day fasting (or eat few calories) and not have 2 UP days at the weekend. I am having a DD today and will have my first WI tomorrow. I am going to try this for a couple of weeks to see what happens. If I am not losing weight I will go back to SnS and try that again, but I am hoping I will lose on this because I can eat.... lol

So
Wednesday UD - 196.00
Thursday DD - 197.60
Friday UD - 194.8
Saturday DD - 196.2
Sunday UD - 194.4
Monday DD - 196.2

Lookin at those numbers you should get a loss no problem. The numbers can look a bit daunting when they bounce up and down like that... but it does work! I too found shake diets very tough mentally.. so Juddding is an ideal middle-man.

oh and I'm on a dd today too, good luck ^_^

hannata is right, my numbers bounce all over the place during the week, can I also suggest that you start measuring or use clothes as a guide to your success as well as weighing. I have said this a million times now and sound like a complete bore but Juddd affects your body shape quicker than any other diet and believe me I have tried them all. The scales may move slow or sometimes not at all but you will still be losing. I don't know how this is possible but last year I got down to 11 7 for a wedding, I bought a dress too small to ensure I lost weight lol. Anyway I sold that dress on ebay this week , why ? because its too big !! Even though I am officially heavier at 12 4 I am a smaller size, this has never happened on any other diet . Another memebr posted last night how her weight loss had been slow the last few week but she felt slimmer, she tried on a pair of jeans she couldn't fit into a few weks ago, now she can ! Thats the magic of Juddd, so have patience and faith and don't rely too heavily on the scales x

Thanks girls for your comments.... I tidied out my wardrobe last night and found a pair of size 16 jeans. I tried them on this morning and although they pull up (kind of) they would no way do up, so I am going to use them as my gauge to how many inches I lose, I also have a top that I tried on the other day which is too tight to wear, so will use that for my top inches.

So today on the scales, I have lost 2 lb this week, which is good as I moved over from a TFR diet, so pleased with that. Today is an up day and I have just had a cheesy bacon roll..... very yummy, but now I am full.

I watched the Horizon programme last night, how on earth can you lose weight with only 2 down days a week, and they dont even have to run consecutively, especially as he didn't look like he really needed to lose that weight. Very impressed.

I had my DD yesterday and stuck to 383 calories which is what the JUDDD website said, I had 2 SnS meals (1 chilli, 1 shake, full fat milk in 2 cups of coffee, 2 no sugar jelly pots and some cauliflower, courgette and mushrooms with my chilli) and still lost weight. Am liking this!!

I forgot to say that I am particularly interested in this alternate day fasting as it is supposed to be good for reducing inflammation and as I have had inflammation since last December (it even shows up in my blood tests), I am hoping it may deal with that too...... that would definately be a bonus for me as I am fed up of having swollen fingers and knuckles, knees and ankles.....

nom nom cheesey bacon roll =3 well done on the loss too! x

I did wonder the same when I watched it... I guess you could say that because he wasn't really massively overweight, he couldn't have been eating toooo much (or having any binge issues) like bigger people do. And that perhaps meant he ate less than what we do on an UD? Maybe?

Yeah I've got arthritis and a high ESR reading (supposed to be under 15 mines been in the 30s), so will be interesting to see my bloodwork the next time I see the specialist. I think we're possibly the ones who really are at most risk from that aging factor if we're already having problems =( I'd love to get the bloodwork done, which they discussed on the programme.. but I don't think any NHS doctor would do it.

Had quite a high cal day yesterday due to having chocolate and 2 Pimms at the pub last night. Was most surprised to find I only put in 0.8 lb this morning. DD today and will stick to my 383 calories.

Excellent start x

Got on the scales this morning and I have lost 2 lb since Tuesday morning..... amazing as I had thought my cals were high on my up day and I ate on my down day which I wasn't doing last week.... must be doing something right.....

Well done you x

Got on the scales this morning after my UP day and they are up 2 lb, so not going to have an amazing loss tomorrow. Have kept myself busy this morning doing housework, going to have a play with Konad nail stuff this afternoon and see about putting little designs on my nails.

Off to Thorpe Park tomorrow, UP day and we will probably have KFC for lunch as we can get a bucket for all of us and it works out cheaper than anywhere else.... we went a couple of months ago and my 9 year old is just about tall enough for all the scary rides, so we went on them all with him and he loved them. Went back on Nemesis Inferno in the afternoon and they said he was too short to ride.... er, we had already been on it, but the guy wouldn't let him on and we left with him crying. After that we went on The Swarm and Saw and he was tall enough for them, so guy was just a d**khead.... We wrote and complained and they said we can have 3 fast track tickets each next time we go which will be tomorrow, plus the guy should have pointed us towards the office where they will measure son properly and give him an armband to say he is tall enough for the rides, so we will do that first tomorrow to save anymore upsets...

Hope you all have a good weekend.

I'm sure you'll see a great loss hun.

Ah the rides attendants can sometimes so nice and sometimes super mean. Yep, good idea to get him that arm band to save more distress :(

Enjoy your KFC tomorrow x

Don't worry about the 2lbs up I always find the more I gain after an UP the more I lose, don't ask me how it all works it justr does, have a good day tomorrow x

LINDA how fab to see you here honey!!!!!!!!!! I put some of my lost weight back on luckily not all of it and earlier started on Dukan while i loved the results (nearly at target again) I watched Michael Moseley program and I was hungry for more so here i am. Not sure not whether to stick with Dukan and loose the last bit of weight then start fasting or whether to move on straight away.
Anyway fab to see you doing so well, I will be your biggest fan and cheer you on> Hugs xxx

Sooo tempted i love pirates, So why Tuesday? I was thinking of starting tomorrow with an up then just follow through. This is messing with my head and poor Linda!! sorry hun we've taken over your diary.

Sorry Linda xxx

Ideally, would have started with a DD (Down Day - Fast Day) on Monday, but I'm off work and doing a 3-hour round trip to have lunch with a friend at venue unknown.

My regular down days (DDs) are to be Monday, Wesnesday and Friday SOOOO the fastest way I can get into the pattern is to start on Tuesday with an UP day. Simples :D

Ok now I am obviously missing something as is not as simples for moi. what happens at weekends? can I not do one up one down till the end of never? are you restricted to 3 days down a week? my head's a shed and my poor hubby with me trying to explain to him that yet again we're on a different diet LOL
