You are getting close to goal and weight loss is going to be slower, remember the diet says 1-2lbs a week.

Lets get back to basics on the whole idea of IF.

There is no magic to it, by restricting the times you eat, you lower (in theory) you overall calorie intake, and by restricting your fasting times you don't feel deprived on a long term basis and thus stick to the diet for longer than a traditional diet. basically thats it.

There is going to come a point for some of us where we find that IF isn't the right solution, for a variety of reasons, I'm still not sure about it myself.

As was said to me on another forum by a more knowledgeable man, when you fast and for how long doesn't really matter in terms of weight loss, what matters is that you fast enough to get a regular calorie deficit........kinds simple really.

Personally I found both with Fast 5 and split day fasting that I could still eat too many calories in my eating window, although Fast 5 does still appeal because I like the idea of doing the same thing every day, I might try it again after my birthday.

You know your calories are too low in the week overall, you need to be averaging at least 1200 a day to get all your nutrients and maybe plan ahead a bit more instead of panic eating................now I shall go and take some of my good advice LOL!!
Ha ha ha xxx we can do this ... We are tryers!! So it's gonna pay off somewhere lol xxx

Yeah what lanark said... waves @ lanark

Hey Ladybird I wont really want to comment on your current tweak as all the tweaks confuse me (fog brain here lol), but one thing I've learnt on Juddd is not to over think it or you'll go loopy ( been there done that.. lost the brain cells)
I dont lose every week, sometimes I sts for a week then have a 3 or 4lb woosh the second week(any losses over 2lbs after a DD is a woosh to me ) or have 2 weeks of good losses then nothing for 2 weeks.
I too struggled for ages to get close to my UD numbers for the first month or so, when your brain is in vlcd mode anything over a 1000 cals feels like a binge lol. I have gotten there now & tend to +/- 100 ish on my UD cals & those UDs are important to keep your metabolism ticking over.

I remember when you started you were way under cals for a while until you got in the swing of things so I think that contributed to that wonderful first month loss, but I think its an unrealistic measure for future losses. what are your DDs cals? are they close to the recommended figures? if your completely fasting that will bring down your weekly cal averages
I also feel once you have a tweak keep it going for at least a month so you can tell if its really working or not as you may still have hiccups during a good tweak but a month will give you a truer picture.

You are doing so well hun.. Juddd isnt a fast weight loss woe but it is a more substainable one if the daily restrictive diets dont work for you.

btw I know your armed & dangerous with your crosstrainer , I've read many times that exercise can make you feel like your weight is stalling (water + muscle growth) but your still losing fat.

Agree the guy on the other forum said I was waaaayyyy over thinking things as well, I think it's some sort of reaction to my experience that diets have to be complicated or prescriptive to work, just not used to all this freedom!

I lost cos when I change to a different plan I always do. No magic. I lost 15 lb the first month on SW but then slowed to the 1 lb grind then stalled and it stopped. I know if I went on shakes I could get another stone off by the end of February which is highly tempting but I was hoping to use JUDDD for life. I think I'm being impatient but I've seen a few diaries on here where the one step forward two back thing happens all the time and some people are happy to do that but I've realised I'm not. I need rid of the weight by June. I'm going to stick with it ( maybe do fast 5 for a week or so cos I can control that better)and step up the exercise ( oh is putting the cross trainer together as I type) and see what happens when I add that to the mix. xx

Thanks too Dee - I fast completely on DD. It's easier then getting into the whole eating thing. Not used the cross trainer yet lol - it only got here today but I do have a lot of muscle from 5 day a week 2 hour weight training I did for years. Peopel are always surprised at what I weigh cos I dn't look it. Wondering if chucking the scale might be a good idea too xx

I totally hear ya, I've had VLCD thoughts myself, especially since I feel I want to look my best for my b'day, but much as I love the results it is painful and just doesn't allow me to have a life at all, I'll be miserable enough turning 40 without adding shakes to the mix LOL!!

Yep shakes don't allow for any life at all. I like my tipple on a weekends and proper food with OH once in a while. I'm still tempted tho and then use JUDD for maintenance. Just finished a DD which seemed relatively easy probably cos I've had no time to think about food. xx

And if you can I'd ditch the scales for a few weeks to avoid wanting to tweak things if you aren't seeing the results you want. Bodies can be weird! I know when I was calorie counting that despite eating exactly the same amount of calories day after day some weeks I'd lose 4lbs and other's only 1lb. But the overall result over a month was what I wanted so didn't matter if the weeks were uneven. I'd definitely commit to one way of fasting and give it a fair go. Good luck xxx
Thanks Frona I know I don't drink enough. I hate water and have to force it down and hate diet drinks too. I've done JUDDD 4 weeks now but had 2 days on Fast 5 during it. Well yes bodies are weird. I lose eating nothing but chocolate and sweets. It's not healthy so I don't do it but my sister does to drop a stone every now and then. I'm going to keep going as I am and see if the new exercise regime will help too. OH would cheerfully throw the scales in the bin.

Back to Fast -5 after 5 weeks Juddding. I'm giving it a month of the same and see how it pans out. Still not happy with the need to eat 2,000 cals on UD JUDDD and not sure why cos on the website it says eat until satisfied and 2000 is a lot. I don't eat that when I'm not trying to lose weight. On Fast 5 I eat between 800 - 1000 a night and I'm full. I feel happier not having to stuff my gate for the sake of it.
