Starting the JUDDD journey

Hello all,

First of all I would like to thank all of you for sharing your stories as this has really helped me make the decision to give JUDDD a try.
A little background around a year and half ago I weighed 9st7lb and then my dad passed away very suddenly I went into meltdown and ate all of my feelings and just didn't care. Now I have started to care again I am not able to fit into a lot of my clothes now. I also have crohn's disease which has luckily been quite calm for around a year although i struggle with arthritis related to the crohn's so currently find it difficult to do exercise but want to try and do more as soon as I can. I have tried weight watchers and around the two week mark I fall of the wagon and put on the weight I lost and have to start again, so I'm thinking WW doesn't work for me. I like the sound of this plan as you only have to get through a day then you can have a normal one after. I started my first DD at 9pm on the 10th of march. I started off ok but I did feel very hungry from about 5pm onwards. My food from 9pm-9pm was:
13:30 minestrone soup 126cal
snack a jack 40cal
15:30 WW spaghetti 100cal
1730 quorn chicken style pieces, frozen stir fry veg, 1tbsp of chow mein sauce 191cal
Snack a jack 40cal
Total 497cal

After I finished at 9pm on the 11/3 I did have a slim fast shake as I felt very hungry but thought it would be ok as I had finished the 24 hours, hopefully the more I get used to this I won't need it. This morning I have carried on my UD and had a small bowl of coco pops (needed a little bit of choc) with skimmed milk and I actually feel quite satisfied with that at the moment usually I would be looking for more food to pick by now. Oh I also have been drinking loads of water and some coke zero and felt like all I did yesterday was run back and forth from the loo haha.
I think I have rambled on enough for now but I will be checking in as many times as I can to keep myself on track.

Good luck. I'm just into my second week so not far ahead of you. I find planning my dd in advance helps. Also try to keep busy. I drink a lot of decaf and fruit teas on dd which helps with the hunger but like you I need frequent trips to the loo!

I lost 2lbs after my 3rd dd so am liking this one so far. Hope you have some success on it too.

Ladybird I have read parts of your diary and you have been so successful well done. Hopefully I can do that well.

Denise I planned my first DD and I think your right it is goin to be the key to keeping on track with this.

Frona So sorry to hear you lost your dad it is so hard, sending you big hugs. It has taken me a very long time to get to a point where I am able to talk about it and deal with it a lot better.

Today has been a good day I have enjoyed the food I have had but haven't felt the need to go mad and eat everything in site I just hope I can keep at it, but I know even if I do have a bad day I can get straight back into it the next day. My DD starts at 9pm and feeling good :)

Hello finished my 2nd DD yesterday and it went well didn't feel as hungry as the first. I ate:
14:15 ww spaghetti 100cal
quorn burger 80cal
17:20 WW beef and red wine casserole 259cal
birds eye broccoli, carrots and cauliflower steam pocket 40cal
Total 479cal

My mum brought me a bottle of wine as a thank you yesterday because she borrowed my car whilst hers was in he garage I was so tempted to have a glass but I didn't give in yay, hopefully I can keep this up. Yesterday I was just thinking of what I could eat on my UD and I was worried that I would want to eat everything but I have got up this morning and had a bowl of cereal and I feel good dont want to eat everything in sight lol.
I weighed myself this morning and I know I shouldn't have but it was good motivation as I have already lost 2lbs after 2 DD's. I know it might fluctuate as I am getting used to this plan but this has let me see early that something is working :)
Right I am off to do a long walk with the dog now as she is looking at me with big eyes. Hope everyone has a good day x

Good luck! I find this a great way to go, not like dieting at all. For me it has been slow but steady. I use A WW meal on a DD with lots of extra veg. Also drinking plenty of water (I like flavoured Volvic) helps to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

You have had a difficult year so perhaps now is the time to move forward and take care of yourself. I'll watch out for your progress.
 
Another DD nearly complete only 45mins left.
Today I have had:
medium scrambled egg with mushrooms and WW spaghetti 198
ww salmon and broccoli wedge melt 276
Total 474cal

Each DD is getting easier and the other half asked me if I wanted takeaway for dinner and I said no and stuck with the DD it's going well. I might have a couple of snack a jacks before bed with low fat homous yum. I don't know if I wil way myself in the morning I am tempted but I might try and wait until Tuesday as it would be over a week on this diet. :)
 
Hello everyone.
completed another DD yesterday and I had:
morrisons nume tomato and bean soup 230cal
ww steam and serve chow mein 203cal
total 433 cal

Having an UD today but not feeling to great don't know if I have got a cold coming. Also my arthritis is playin up and I'm finding it hard to walk around and I'm working a night shift tonight it's all good fun. Anyways still determined to stay on track but feeling yucky hope it goes soon x
 
Well had to come home from work at 2am last night as felt awful and arthritis was very painful, I got to the point of nearly being in tears with every step so thought that was a good sign to go home. Couldn't sleep when I got in as I couldn't get comfortable and still can't move well it will make the DD easier though as I can't really move lol. Thank you for the well wishes x
 
That's terrible KMeek. Sorry to hear you have been having such pain. I hope you are feeling better now.

Thank you the pain isn't anywhere near as bad but all I did yesterday was lay in bed or on the sofa so that has helped. But today there is lots of housework that has to be done I am just going to take it slow and do what I can. Had a dd yesterday think I just went over the 500 but not by much I had super noodles around 3pm 498cal and then 1/3 of a chicken wrap as I couldn't eat any more as I felt sick.
So back to an UD today and then hopefully next DD I won't go over. X
