Jumping to JUDDD to get me to goal, and beyond!

Thornhill Cate

50+ and fabulous
A few of you already know me because I've commented on your diaries but for those who don't I'm Cate, a 52 yr old single mum of 10.5 yr old son. I started Exante (again) on 28th April weighing 17st 2lbs and have managed to get down to 15st as of my weigh in last Monday. Initially I had wanted to stick with Exante and then make the switch to JUDDD when I got to 13st. Then I decided to bring that forward to when I got to 14st. But I've been finding it harder and harder to stick to Exante and have been cheating regularly although not badly. However, this has slowed my losses to just 1lb a week for the past two weeks and 2lbs a week for the three weeks before that. It doesn't seem like much reward for all the restraint of a VLCD so have decided to move over now. Also, I think it will make life easier if I'm JUDDDing during the school hols.

So, I will weigh on Monday as normal to round off my time on Exante but will then also weigh on Tuesday as this will be my official new weigh in day for JUDDD as I'm going to weigh after a DD and Mondays will always be a DD for me. I am aiming to make Monday, Wednesday and Fridays my DDs. I am going to have two Exante products plus 100 cals of milk in coffee on my DDs as I don't trust myself to calorie count real food on DDs yet. On my UDs I will be aiming to consume no more than 1895 calories as this is my predicted TDEE. I will JUDDD for the next six weeks holidays and see how I go and then if it's not working for me, return to Exante when the schools go back. I ideally want to be 14st by then and that will leave me 3st to shift to get to goal which I had hoped to do by my birthday in mid December but am not going to get hung up on that. Whatever it is, it's going to be a lot less than I weighed on my birthday last year.

I will also be keeping an eye on my carbs. While I don't want to give up carbs completely, I don't want to pile on a load of water weight by jumping straight back into eating loads of carbs so I will be re-introducing them slowly and carefully. Oh, and I intend to stay off the booze too for the forseeable future.

Well, that's me and that's my plan. I look forward to joining you over here on Monday. Really hoping this works for me. :)

I've just realised that today is exactly five months until my birthday on 17th December. If I can lose 10lbs a month from now until then that's 3st 8lbs which would get me to 11st 6lbs on my birthday. Would be happy with that. :D

Good luck cate!

Hi Cate! Good luck with this. Sounds really good. I will check out your progress over the summer and may consider once I get a little closer to goal. Well done on making the right choice for you :)

I wish you the very best of luck Cate, I'll follow you over here - in fact you are now my JUDDD guru as this may be something I'll look to do when I finish on Exante - stay strong xx

Good luck Chickie x

Hi Cate, looking forward to reading about your new journey, good luck x

Hi and good luck with the JUDDD start, you're going to love it! Great idea starting with the Exante products, it is recommended to start with similar for the first 2 weeks to make sure you're counting right.

Hi Cate. I'm with Katie - will be following closely. Hope you give details of what you're eating as well as your weight losses - which I'm sure will be good ones!

How's it going Cate x

So, here we go. First day. Have just measured out my 200 mls semi-skimmed milk for my 100 cals today. Feeling a bit nervous thinking that I'm only having two Exante products on top of this today. Seems like so little. Don't know why I'm feeling like this as I know I can manage on this - when I was in the swing with Exante I would often feel like I didn't need my third product. Just got to get into the zone. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Everyone else seems to and weirdly, people seem to prefer their DDs to their UDs.

Am feeling cross with myself as have probably made the task harder than it needs to be as since I made the decision to switch to JUDDD I haven't been sticking to Exante and this weekend I've had a bit of a sugar binge, eating things I shouldn't have eaten. Even on my UDs I'm intending to stick to good stuff and avoid sugar as much as possible. Anyway, fridge is stocked with meat, salad and fruit and a huge tub of full fat Greek yoghurt. At least on this I know that if I'm having a bad DD I can go and look at it knowing that I can eat it tomorrow!

Will report back later to record how it's gone today. Wish me luck. :cross:

I wish you all the luck in the world and am really hoping that this works well for you, as you say at least you know it's only today and that you're eating tomorrow - have a great day xx
