My countdown diary...50lbs to go!

Hi! I'm new here but figure this place is the best forum for my diary. I'm doing some sort of calorie cycling, starting on Wednesday. I'm not sure of the specifics yet, but I'm definitely going to include some form of fasting as I've done it before and it really helps to regulate my appetite.

My ultimate goal is to lose 50lbs but my interim goal is to lose 28lbs (2 stone) by my 40th birthday in 11 weeks time. I know this is a big ask, but I'm going to try.

Here are my minimum goals:
1. 15000 steps every day
2. strength exercises 3 x weekly
3. create a calorie deficit over the week by eating healthily, exercising more and fasting at least one day a week.

I'm going to weigh in on a Monday so this week will be a short week.

I'm currently reading a book called the FBI plan and I think I'm going to give it a go. It's a way of trying to get me to eat more healthily. It basically stands for Fast / balance / indulge. Basically you divide your days into one of these categories.

According to this book, and their online calculator, my TDEE is 2446. I'd need to eat that to maintain my weight.

On a fast day, you have 20-30% of your TDEE, so I'd have between 489-733 cals on a fast day.

Balance days you eat from a list of healthy foods....The author recommends a sort of slimming world style eating (low fat, low sugar and some foods, notably bread & dairy limited).
I'm actually going to try a slow carb style of eating on those days. This is basically a more relaxed version of paleo....cutting out dairy, grains, processed food etc. But you are allowed pulses. And the odd glass of red wine!

indulge days - normal breakfast, eat as you want from lunch.

So here goes. At the moment I'm aiming for 1 indulge day and one fast day per week.

So, I know one of the keys is organisation. So I'm going to make a list of go to meals on here for balance days so I don't have to think too much.
I'm also going to make a list of easy evening meals for my kids on fast days so I don't have to stress about it.

Breakfasts:
Scrambled egg with veg & beans
Frittata

Lunches
Big salad with lots of goodies...artichoke hearts, olives, pinenuts (if not had in morning)
Homemade soup or stew or chilli

Snacks
Cottage cheese & nuts
Almonds
Boiled egg
Coffee with cream
Avocado
Tuna
Hummus & veg
Guacamole & veg

Def. Need some more breakfast ideas!

Day 1 - Wed 27th August

After a few days wallying around I am finally determined!!! Today is D - day!

Here's the plan:

AM - 1.5 mile run (easing myself back into it)
PM - exercise dvd of some kind

B: eggs with fried peppers & onions & beans
L: big ass salad containing anything I can find
S: hummus & veg
T: roast chicken, veg
