Zero Noodles anyone?

If you mean the shiritake then yes, they taste of nothing and I binned mine, they remind me of slimy over cooked bean sprouts.

lol i'm sorry others might have a different view, I really tried to make them taste nice but i failed miserably. xx

I love them , i stir fry them with beef / chicken and veg with herbs and spices , very tasty and filling then .

I'll have to make a trip to Holland & Barrett, my rice noodles cost me 128 cals for 100gms!!!

If any of you have an oriental supermarket near you they will usually sell them. They'll be in the fridges, packed in water. I got some yesterday, but have yet to try them. I might have some in a stirfry on my next DD (tomorrow). I've heard mixed reviews about them. Some people say they're absolutely gross, and some say they are edible if you can get past the texture. I guess they're good for adding some bulk to your DD meals, without the calories!

I bought some aggges ago when I was doing a low carb diet but never did try them. In the end I put them in the bin because they were past their sell by date.
There is an oriental food shop in our town that I've been meaning to check out for months now to see if they sell these noodles. Gonna see if I can get there over the weekend. I agree msrsimpkin would be good for DD's

How are they 0 calories though? If it's made of yam - yam has calories surely? Am I just missing something lol.

Ooo they're like magic lol. Thanks for the link gettingfit :)

I did buy some they were in water but think it was 50 cals still not bad but 0 better lol
I fried them and they were ok .I rinsed them lots first and they were a bit chewy weird but could get used to them

Apparently there are some you can buy with tofu in that have some calories, but the ones I had were 98% water and 2% yam fibre. There's something like 0.2 calories per 100g (I can't remember exactly) in them, but I figure it's negligible, so I didn't count it.

The texture is a bit chewier than regular noodles, and I don't think they could be used in place of spaghetti, as I've heard some people do. But, if you can get used to the texture, I think they're excellent for DDs!

whatsthe make off the ones you bought ,mine were in an oblong longish tray

I couldn't tell you. Even if I still had the wrapper, everything was in Japanese apart from the sticker over the nutrition section, which had been translated (as is most of the stuff there).

Mine came in a pouch filled with (an awful smelling) liquid. If you see them again, check the ingredients. You're looking for ones that are 95-98% water and yam fibre, konjac fibre, soluble fibre or something along those lines. That's all that should be in them. These are the ones that are 0 calories.

Mine were the same as msrsimpkin and mine were called 'Shirataki Noodles (Konnyaku)'. I bought mine from a low carb website but works out expensive with the P+P (postage was £5) so next time I buy some will be from a local oriental store
