Percentage weight los

Hi girls I was really pleased to notice this morning that my percentage weight loss is 18.5 %, which I think is pretty good, sort of puts into perspective what I have managed to achieve, I may not be at my goal weight yet but I have done really well and am really pleased with myself, that may sound conceited but I think its important to celebrate our own success as we are doing it for ourselves right ? So it might be useful to take a peak at yours to see what you have achieved xx

Well done, Hon. That's a brilliant percentage weight lost. :)

Wow, thanks for this Jo. I've lost over 26% of myself. That's just weird! But good weird :D

Thanks Tess x, I think you get a badge if you have lost 10% on SW so def something worth celebrating Jacci x, Laura thats awesome well done hun x

Fab guys well done, you're right Jo it really is worth celebrating. I know you get your 'club 10' on slimming world because after losing 10% of your starting weight that's when the health benefits kick in apparently. Don't know how much truth there is in that but it does feel good!

9.something% - quite good considering I weigh a lot.

I could theorectically lose up to 50% of my weight, at 20 stone, that would be 10. But I'd be very very slim at that weight, it's like a pound above the minimum weight I should be.

9.61% you're so close to the 10 :D

I'm the same as in could go down to 8st 5lb (50% loss) and still be healthy weight, but I think I would look ridiculous lol!

wow 8 st 5 is teeeeny tiiiiiiny!!!! My lowest safe weight is 9'13 (bmi of 20). Doubt I'll ever be there, doubt i'll ever *want* to be there. I quite like my curves, I just don't need all of the spare tyres!!! If I lose 40 odd percent I'll probably be happy.

losing 10% reduces the risks associated with being overweight, but to be fair, im a longshot away from healthy just yet. :p

edit: i've got 1.1 lbs to go to get to 10%, and ill be in the 17s!! Yay! Hopefully this weigh in will see me get there... fingers crossed

I know I wouldn't ever go there, or even be able to if I did want to! I like being curvy and I like food to much hehe.

Ooo only 1.1lb to go that's fab Han, fingers crossed for you :)

Well done on great percentage losses everyone, like you Hann I could lose 50% but that would make me just under my recommended BMI. I'll be happy to lose 30% then re evaluate!!

Way hey! Good going and a nice reminder.

I'm awaiting my 10%, but as I am soooooooooooooo tired, and mullering my DDs, parents visiting etc, I think I will have to wait for next week to do a clean start.

I suppose I could aim for an enormously skinny (is that possible?) 50%, leaving me at 8 stone, some people are that teeny, aren't they?

But I don't think so somehow!

Anyhoo, on we go, or as the rather gorgeous old Dr Who, Mr Tennant would have said, Avante!

I was really happy to get my 10% a couple of weeks or so ago but I've got a long way to go yet. Think I'll end up with just over 50% at my GW

Everyone is doing so well.

I enjoy checking out my percentage weight loss after updating my stats. Although most of my current loss was from a VLCD but some from JUDDD too. If I added it up correctly my goal percentage lost will be about 33%. If I was to go by BMI then it would be something like 40% and even then I would still be at the higher end of a 'healthy BMI'

When I sat down and thought about it in January, I realised that losing ten stone would leave me STILL a few pounds into overweight territory - BMI 25.4. I was 21-7 then, but my heaviest ever was 22 stone.

I hope to be so close to being half the woman I once was that it make little difference which side of the line I'm on. My goal is currently set at 10-7, but tbh, take that with a pinch of salt. I'm not "on a diet", and even with the fasting I am trying to embrace a way of eating that is for life, not just for a time.

So in truth, my goal is about eating in an enjoyable, sustainable way and maintaining a weight I'm happy staying at without struggling, but that won't fit in the space allowed for goal weight :D

Oh, and I'm closing in on 30% of starting weight lost.

Well done barbara!!!! I think the BMI system can be a bit flawed for some people. Honestly being under 27/28 should be healthy enough for most people. Think it's more important to stay active than it is to be super skinny!!! And being happy! Striving for a perfection that never exists would just make me unhappy! I'm aiming towards my BMI of 30, which is a way to go yet, and I'll see how I feel then. I intend to get some serious training done so I'm likely to be denser than average, so I'll weigh more anyway! Absolutely! Last year I found some statistics about the likelihood of suffering health problems which impact quality of life in older age. Not surprisingly, the normal weight people who were also active were the best off, and obese people who were sedentary were worst. But the obese people who were active were much better off than the normal weight people who were sedentary! That motivated me to be active on a regular basis, even if I didn't lose as much weight as I might hope.

I'm actually not that interested in being skinny - I too think a woman with curves is more attractive than one without. My main wish on the appearance front would be to be to lose my jelly belly, end up with a firmer and flatter tum, and avoid any saggy skin effect on my upper arms and thighs. But if it's not possible, I am so much better off that I will concentrate on all the good things I've gained, rather than lament that last little bit that isn't perfect.

Agreed, it's far healthier to be active and have your heart actually used. Ok being critically obese will never be good for you no matter how active you are, but I would say being 29 and under (BMI) is fine if you are active. Chances are if you do intense exercise you're gonna be more muscular and heavier, but not heavier with fat. And they say it's better to have fat reserves when you get older... Because if you get sick and can't absorb food you've got an emergency supply. Most of the critically ill people we get in work (district nursing referral centre) are critically obese or underweight, especially in the under 70 category. X

I've got a way to go to get to BMI 29.... another couple of stone at least..... there're one in the eye for the woman who told me a couple of weeks ago that I was perfect as I am and not to lose any more (like it's any of her business). As for getting too skinny.... anyone who thinks that's gonna happen to me, barring major illness, clearly does NOT know me!

Actually, as I get towards the healthy range, I'll be paying more attention to body fat% than weight/BMI. Under 30% would be good. Also, how my joints are, and how my blood work is (I have diabetes).

Would still like a firm belly... but don't expect it or need it to happen to be abso-bloomin-lutely delighted with the changes I've made!
