Hi Guys, i'm on day 2 of judd. I did cambridge diet from November to August this year and lost 3 stone. Ofiically I'd lost that by march but lost my mojo and yo-yo'd for a few months before I realised I really wasn't happy. I've been relaxed about my diet the last couple of months but I've gained 2 stone again so I've decided to get my head around things, try this, start taking my metformin for pcos again and start exercising. Have a few cambridge tetras left so I've been having those but I'm thinking i might replace 1 or two with soup and melba toast of ryvita thins. I'm trying to be very nonchalent about this because everytime I commit to something I fail. I seem to get obsessed with it and soon lose interest and it goes. I seem alot calmer about this so wish me luck! I might start a diary soon so feel free to pop along

Welcome,

I think we can all relate to that feeling of getting too tied up with diets. I have been doing JUDDD for just over two months, I've only physically lost 6lb in that time but I feel and look great, I am so relaxed about it as to be horizontal, its jsut how I eat now and I actually look forward to my Down days, I guess its still about being in control of my eating but in a really positive way.

I am just like you, hammering a diet exactly and running out of steam. Taking it easy is a wise decision. Don't feel bad if you have a bad day and just get on with tomorrow. I've been doing juddd for 15 weeks and lost a staggering 29.8lbs. And had lots of bad days, lots of bad weigh ins but just keep the faith and it all comes good xx

Hannata I'm a quater of the way through your diary lol. Down day today and I must admit I was dreading it but having a yogurt for breakfast was less calories than a cambridge tetra so I've had that for breakfast. Do you start to feel less hungry on down days?

Welcome to JUDDD, SiobhanMT. I've been JUDDDing for about a month, although I had a week off due to illness. I've lost 7lbs, and this is the first time I don't actually feel like I'm on a diet. DD were hard to start with, but you do get used to them and you will start to feel less hungry. Some people find it better to have their main meal in the evening and use most of their calories for it and others spread it out through the day. It depends what's easiest for you.
Good luck on your JUDDD journey. :)

The resounding answer to your question is yes..DD's get incredibly easy..infact I now look forward to mine. I find UD's much harder to balance over eating & under eating. Lets face it anyone..and I mean anyone can go without food for 24hrs.I mean the worst thing that can happen is you feel hungry and maybe a little light headed...so having 500 calories is a doddle. As long as you drink plenty of water or hot low cal fluids you'll be fine. Just spend your time as most of us do..planning what you are going to eat tomorrow on your UD...its fun, keeps you occupied..and you'll find you probably won't want it anyway. Your body just needs to stop acting like a spoilt child saying gimme gimme gimme...in a few days it will 'get over it' promise!!!

Thanks for all the advice. Had muller rice for Breakfast and just had a weight watchers soup, melba toast and sugar free jelly for lunch so I'm happy :) the soup tasted alot like it was packed full or sweetners so we will see how i feel in a few hours!

You'll be fine.....the tummy might rumble a bit...and you might feel like chewing your arm..but you'll be ok...you are making good choices..well done

Well I half managed my 2nd down day, I under estimated the calories in skinless chicken thighs and ended up on 800 calories overall :-( still I'm down 3 pounds after one up day and two down. I will settle for 2 at my official weigh in on sat

Don't worry about it, it all evens out and the DD's get easier. Funnily enough I was just going to record in my diary how my DD hadn't quite gone to plan and I might just change it to an inbetween day and carry on tomorrow. Normally a 'slip up' would have me scoffing everything cos I've 'ruined' my diet... that isn't JUDDD ~ it's flexible, you fit it into your life as best you can not the other way round!

Well done on the loss so far, sounds like you're getting into the swing of it now :Dxx

Hmmm well I didn't think I'd been too bad but a 3-4 pound gain after one up day today so I guess that 2 I want on sat may be a bit too much to hope for :-(

Welcome. I was like you and sick of dieting, being really strickt for a couple of months and then going off the rails and forgetting about it. I have found with JUDDD is even if you do go off for some reason one week, it is so easy to pick it back up where you left off. And you never really cheat cos if you need to go to a party or an occasion where you know you're going to eat or drink too much for DD you can just switch your days around. Simples!

Good luck x

Omg oops again! Right so today is an up day now which means my who weekend will be down. Wish me luck :) at least it means I get a full weeks weigh in and a double down which I think I need

We've all done it, but remember that JUDDD is pretty forgiving. Can I suggest you don;t make it too hard for yourself by trying to do 2 DD's over the weekend? Why not just aim for one & plan it well so that you get it right..then you will be set up to have a good week knowing you can do it.

I have to agree with Jilly don't set yourself up for failure by planning double downs when you are just starting. I personally don't think i would ever do a DD but would definitley want to be confidently doing DD before trying a double.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm not sure what to do now. I managed my dd yesterday and I've lost the 2 lbs I was hoping for. I have to have an up day tomorrow as its my mrs bday but maybe ill have an up day until 5 and fast until 5 tomorrow so we can have a nice tea? I'm not sure I want another double up
