What I've learnt...

Hi everyone,

I've been doing Juddd for nearly a month now and have found there are a few things I've learnt so far on this journey. I thought it may be nice for us to share some of the things we've discovered so far.

I've learnt...
That there are some amazing discoveries for down days in the supermarkets if you take time out to browse
Minimins Juddd forum is a brilliant place with a huge amount of information and wonderful, lovely & helpful people
Going by how my clothes fit is much better for my sanity than daily weighing (especially on this plan when the weight fluctuations are so diverse)
To keep clothes until I'm really sure they're no longer needed (because weight fluctuations can be as much as a size either way)
I am so much more successful on my down days if I'm super prepared beforehand
Variety on down days can be good, but too much variety is not so great
I never end up eating all the things that I promise myself while on a down day
I quite like eating low cal foods on up days that are too high for down days, (like snack a jacks)
I have more willpower than I thought

So, what have you all learnt? :)

Great thread, 4 weeks in (almost) I've learnt that:

I do best on 24 hour fasts with no cals.
I have to CC on my up days, which are not a "licence to stuff" (expression taken from other member)
I can enjoy the weekend without dreading the consequences.
Weightloss and health gain is not a race, slow and steady is best
I like to "tweak to suit my week"
I ask myself if I am hungry before eating.

Hi Lankarwitch,

How is it all going for you? I think we've been on the plan for about the same amount of time but my weight loss has stalled recently. I haven't lost anything in nearly a month and was hoping to lose at least 2lbs a week.

I guess another thing I've learnt is that even when following the same plan people's results can vary quite a lot.

No#1 rule: hungry is okay! reeeealy hungry and you can probably go another hour...
No#2 rule: on UD's there is full and there is crazy full! (crazy full is baaad...)
No#3 rule: I could kinda do this forever, happy days :D

Hi Cairo, it's going well for me, I've managed to get a loss this week but I did the potato hack!! Big birthday coming up this Friday, needs to lose all the lbs I can.

I might be moving to Cairo soon lol!

Lanark what's the potato hack, read your diary and am a bit interested after googling stuff as it seems to be Paleo-friendly?

Dee is actually a paleo hack basically you just eat potatoes with a max of 1 tsp fat per medium potato you eat until full no counting required

And nothing else? Do you do on UDs or DDs? Do you count them on DDs or are you not really fasting atm? Thinking if trying it

I do them on both, I find 500 cals of potatoes is quite a lot for 1 meal!

Absolutely nothing else except seasonings (no sugar), so salt pepper, malt vinegar and s/f ketchup, herbs spices, I've been making hash browns and sw chips, baked potatoes and such, they are more filling if you let them go cold in the fridge though and apparently better for w/l, I had a good week on it and lost 2lbs last week after a very very bad 3 day weekend

Hi DeeCe,

I was just reading over the old thread you made, where you tried on the two pairs of shorts and even though you weighed more than when you'd tried them on before JUDDD, they fit you better now. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks as that post has helped me to focus my attention away from the scales again and persevere with this plan a little longer. I'm glad it's been made a sticky as every time I need inspiration or encouragement I'll refer back to it.

I'm glad! :) I need to take my own advice and walk away from the scales sometimes.. it's a nicer feeling to fit in old clothes x
