8 hour diet

Anyone doing the 8 hour diet? This comes under the category of intermittent fasting. So I hope I'm not in the wrong place.
I just wondered about people's views of this, does it work?

I looked at this in the paper yesterday and at first i thought it sounded great but then when you look at suggested menus etc it's far from 'eat what you want'! I think the idea is to lay of carbs a bit.
I'd also be interested to know how people get on with this diet.
 
I think it sounds plausible, I would never just eat what I want though. To me that bit doesn't make sense. I am trying this along side ww as usually I eat breakfast at work at 9.30 and eat my tea 5.30 to 6 so first day today I will post on Saturday with my loss. I've been getting 2lb losses on average x
 
You are in the right place! I've npt tried the 8 hour window but I think there are others on here doing similar things.

Thanks. I will definitely keep you updated. I generally try not to eat late in the evening so I'm possibly only shaving off 3 hours of my normal food window anyway so it may not make too much difference but I hope it will! X
 
Im doing this way of fasting. I eat 12pm-8pm and exercise in the morning before my breakfast. Iv been at it since monday so day 4 and im doing good. I calorie count and stick to 1600cals a day and Im doing well. I never used to eat breakfast but since I started years ago I would eat more and then that led to weight gain. Im alot happier eating this way as it fits in better with my day
 
Just started myself today, fingers crossed..........must have been on every weight loss board on here! Hopefully this is the last
 
Well week 1 on track 8 hour diet and a loss of only 1.5 lb which is less than I've been losing in previous weeks :(
 
Yeah possibly, I'm going to keep at it. I don't think when it comes to dieting 7 days is long enough to see clear results. Thanks :)
 
I slipped a little so Im going for the recommended time for women of 14/10 fasting. Il eat first meal at 10am then finish at 8pm for the day. Its easier for me that way as I get up before 6am most mornings and I do exercise and all the housework/kids stuff and by 10am im starving so Il see how I go,
