I'm just starting 5:2 after nearly 6 months on Cambridge. I've got about another 2 stone to lose (maybe 2 and a half) but I want a bit more freedom and I need to get my relationship with food back on track.

Any tips much appreciated :)

Just wanted to say Hi!

I'm relatively new to this too, I'm doing it alongside paleo :) Just had to look when I started IF lol been doing it for about 6 weeks but had a week and a bit off for holidays in the middle of that.

Whens your first fast day going to be? Its great getting through that first day and realising that you're not dead from no food lol! It was a realisation for me!
Are you going to keep a food diary? I see you've joined the Christmas Challenge, it'll help keep you on track (thats what I'm hoping anyways lol)

AJ xx

Yeah, I'm tracking my food on my fitness pal. I'm hoping that the months on a VLCD will help me deal with the fast days a bit easier lol.

I'm planning on the first fast day being Monday, then Thursday x

Hello NorthernLight and eatlikeaGFgirl.

I'm incredibly impressed you managed 6 months on the Cambridge Diet. Longest i've ever gone on a VLCD is 3 months and i was pulling my hair out towards the end. With 6 months practice on Cambridge you should find the DD's a breeze. Do you still have some packs to use or are you going to be eating really foods? Just treat DD's the same way as you coped with the early stages of CD. Plenty of water, black coffee, tea, etc but just keep reminding yourself that it's only one day, you'll be able to eat the following day. You might find you crave foods on your DD that you don't actually want to eat by the time you get to your UD!

If your struggling for any reason just nip online and if someone is around they'll be able to offer you some help. Good luck and remember to keep us updated :)

Hi both :D
Northernlight, did you refeed after coming off cambridge?
I know when i did Lipotrim you had to come off properly unless some went straight back on!
Good luck:bighug:

Yeah, I've been increasing my calories for the last few weeks. I'm still expecting a gain this week though, especially since I've had a few treats this weekend!

I've got some packs left so I'm definitely planning on using them on my low calorie days, but plan to include some "real" food too.

Good luck :)

I too did Cambridge and went from 12st 2 to 9st 11 in 10 weeks. I've kept most of it off through healthy eating and exercise. With day two of IF under my belt, this could hopefully work for me :) x

Good idea using the packs on the fasting days. I have shakes for 2 meals and breakfast bars for 1 meal and it keeps me in line, is easy, and i had some good loses last time.
Have a good week both xx
