Advice on transferring from a VLCD to JUDDD

50+ and fabulous
Hi, has anyone here got experience of transferring from a VLCD to JUDDD? I am currently doing Exante and want to switch over to JUDDD in the next few weeks. Thing is, I'd like to avoid gaining weight when I first switch over. Does anyone have experience of this or is a gain inevitable once I start eating carbs? Am thinking maybe I could JUDDD but low carb it for a few weeks if that would help my weight loss. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi there, didn't want to read and run... I've no experience of this, although I have lost weight on a VLCD before. I guess you should expect to gain some 'weight' back, in terms of what the scales will read, but not in terms of fat gain. All you'll be doing is refilling the glycogen stores that you deplete when on a VLCD. Perhaps, as you suggest, try and stick to low carbs in the first few weeks.

I plan to IF, but my intention on my feast (eating) days is to eat predominantly low carb anyway. I want to keep my carb intake to around the 50g mark initially and see how I get on.

Good luck with moving across to IF - I'm sure you'll do well :)

Hey there

I did 2 weeks on a vlcd then returned to judddd , I'd definitely recommend low carbing for at least 5 days, but be warned my glycogen gain didn't happen till 10 days after starting judddd. I still lost 1.5 lb that week and that included a drunken weekend :)

I'd recommend intermittent fasting over a vlcd any day, yes the weight loss is slower but the inch loss is amazing and i feel far healthier and have way more energy than any stint i've done on a vlcd:)

Good Luck with Judddd xx

Thanks for your responses ladies. Very helpful to have your insights. Have one more stone to lose VLCDing and then looking to make the switch to JUDDD.
