I know now the membership options are different from when I first joined last year (when they introduced the four weekly cycle programs I think they made this change). If you are really worried as to whether you are being told the correct pricing, I would ring lighter life direct on the number on their website to verify. Never hurts to check and they should be able to tell you categorically
Start Weight: 20 st 11lb Date: 12/07/2011
Losses:
Week 1 - -18lb
Week 2 - New York!
Week 3 - New York!
Week 4- -4lb (totm!)

When I joined 6 weeks ago, they only took 1 week off me, and no 15 quid charge either.
First time round I paid 2 weeks first - the idea apparently that I would then not need to pay the last 4 weeks of rtm.
My llc even let me have a free week last time, as I didn't need any packs that week.
I think they need to be careful staying all these rules and extra charges, as people have other vlcd options and will only be pushed so much. 72 a week is on the cusp of being too expensive (i dont get the benefit of not spending on take aways or meals out as I rarely did this. And I still pay for half of the monthly shop.

Don't really agree that it's fair enough - given the fact they get a minimum of £72 a week off their clients (more if you throw in drinks and plastic items).
Passing on an arbitrary "joining fee" to cover their costs, is a bit of a sharp practice and I'd have refused to pay had they told me i had to pay (perhaps the fact I've been before is why they didn't).
There are plenty of other options and it'd make much better economic sense to entice clients to use your service, rather than try to squeeze a bit more out of them.
