Week 5 weigh & quick question

    Hi

another 3.5 pounds of last night so down 30 pounds in total Really pleased as I have never lost this much on a diet before. Walked into the class and someone said what a difference on meMade my night.

Quick question I meant to ask my councellor but we got chatting and I forgot whoops. I thought that we had to go for a medical every 4 weeks and have the formed signed? I have just done week 5, actually 6 as I repeated week 1, and nothing has been said. The only reason my hubby let me do this diet was the fact I was getting monitored by the "professionals".

    Thanks

    Hi

Yes you should have a medical every 28 days, but the major thing I have picked up from what you said is that your husband is "letting" you do this diet? My husband is supporting me, but he sure as hell isn't the one "letting" me do it...I'm doing it for myself, not anyone else!

    Hi

Didnt mean it like that. He is 100% behind me and very supportive. He was concerned that it wasnt a healthy diet and really didnt want me to do it incase it made me ill. He is only thinking of me. I went to see my nurse about something else and spoke to her and she really recomended it. I told hubby this and he was lot happier about it. Especially as the nurse will be seeing me monthly. I am doing this for myself and my family. Surely if your hubby had any doubts about the diet he wouldnt want you to do it. I would never do anything my hubby wasnt happy about. No I am not under his thumb we are a couple and we discuss every thing. I always get my way naturally but I have learnt it is best to make him think its his idea

I have always found it best for him to believe it was his idea in the first place!!!

Well done on you loss 30lbs is fantastic

Like you my husband have reservations but once my GP had OK'd it he was much happier. Only on day 6 but not finding it nearly as bad as I thought I would - 7lbs off!

We have a nurse (2 infact) in our group and I find that a comfort too. We are hoping they can do our blood pressure in fact!

    Keep up the good work.

I just started last Wednesday and my LLC gave me the dates when my 4-wkly check up with the doctor was due. Your LLC should have done the same and should be reminding you prior to each one that it is due at the next group meeting .... doesn't sound good. I get a bit disheartened when I hear about the way some LLC's just seem to go through the motions (and some don't even do that properly). Makes me feel it is just a money making venture ... however, we will lose the weight and I guess it is up to us to get what we want from it ... including taking the initiative and giving her the form signed by the doctor/practice nurse even though she hasn't asked for it. Congrats. on the loss!

    Hi

Thanks, The form has never been mentioned and i dont have one to do it myself. I will ask her about it next week. I have to go and see the nurse soon again about something esle and would be easier to conbine the two.

Great when hubbies think they have all the ideas isnt it

    Hi

    Congratulations on your loss wow!

The forms are inside the week 1 booklet you should have received at your first session.

    Hope this helps.

The check up forms are inside your Record Book (where your Counsellor writes down your weekly weight loss) If she hasn't been doing it, she will get in to trouble with LighterLife, because she is meant to send them off to head office. If you have a nurse in your group, you are very lucky! See if they can sign & stamp your form for you. I have only had do it it once so far (again next week) I had a LOT of trouble. My surgery wanted to charge me £5 & I would have had to wait 2 days to get it back! Lloyds pharmacy are starting to get a bit arsey doing it. They claim you only need to have you BP checked every 6 months, so I think they might introduce some sort of policy of not doing it for LighterLife clients. Makes my blood boil. We are all constanly being told how dangerous it is to be overweight/obese, yet I find the Health Care Profession very reluctant to help unless it's putting money in their pocket.
    Sorry - rant over.
Having said that, my local Waitrose has a pharmacy. They have said without question that they would be happy to help.

Hi if you go to the nurse just ask her to take your BP and record and sign it in your weight record book then give it to your counselor this is what I do.

Asda seem to be very good about checking blood pressure for free each month for me. See if you local Asda has a pharmacy.

    Hi

Thanks. I am a bit shocked it hasnt been mentioned in class. I didnt even realise the forms was in my book I will have a look shortly. it has been stored away somewere lol.
I dont have a problem getting it done with my nurse., I spoke to her before and she did the medical for me and said just ask for her when making a appointment. DOnt bother telling the receptionist what it is for as it is none of their business.

I will definatly mention it next week as no one else in the class has mentioned it either so it looks like no one is getting it done. I was under the impression if it wasnt done you wouldnt be allowed to continue.( any excuse to use a smiley

not all LLC are 100% accurate in sticking to the 28 day check up....it is up to you and how you feel if you think you should then do it.....but you can tell how your body is dealing with LL

    Hi

I dont personally think I need to see the nurse I am feeling better now that I every have. I go to the nurse every 12 weeks anyway and she always checks my blood pressure then. I am due soon so will wait and combine the two. Must now go and check my dairy for when it is due lol

    Hi there,

Just wanted to say well done and congratulations your making excellant progress.

I had my BP check done at the local LLoyds Pharmacy and got them to note it down in my booklet. However they forgot to stamp the booklet with a pharmacy stamp and although my LLC noted down the results she wouldn't accept the form without it being stamped, however she hasn't mentioned it since so I think it was ok. I wasn't on any medication before LL and my BP checks were fairly normal so that might be the reason why.

well done and keep up the good work!

    xx
