    Abstinence

Hiya im new to this forum but not new to lighterlife, i have been in abstinence for 14 weeks now and lost 7 stone. I may answer my own question here but is anybody in a similar situation where they are not sure when to go into management. While im chuffed to have lost 7 stone so quickly, i still have about 7 stone to lose before i reach my target. Without blowing my own trumpet i have found abstinence fairly easy so far, just its getting a bit boring . I quess what im asking is has anybody gone into management before they reached their target weight and regretted it, struggled to reach their target . Or is it better to stay in abstinence until you are at target weight.
    thanks Steveo

Congratulations on your weight loss so far! That's a phenomenal amount!

I'm in a similar position, my goal weight is 10 stone which is a BMI of about 22, but I'm going to go into RTM next week which will put me at 25. something, slightly over my healthy BMI.

My husband is going in at the same time, his BMI will be about 27.5.

We're going in early because we've both been feeling pretty ill and dizzy on the diet, and it's affecting our day to day lives quite a lot.

If we eat a healthy, balanced diet, and exercise regularly, then we will continue to lose weight. If we stayed on until goal, we would still have to eat a healthy, balanced diet and exercise regularly, so we're not going to be that different.

We can always go back into abstinence if we need to

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Congratulations on your weight loss you have done so well. I was abstinent for 42 weeks before going into RTM just 2 days ago. I found abstinence easy too and I did face quite a trauma deciding to go into maintenance. I was only 11lbs heavier than I had planned but I have a lot of loose skin around my tummy which I am hoping to have removed and I know that this weighs very heavy.

I think you have to decide if you are happy with your weight loss and the diffence it has made to your life, 7 stone is a lot to loose and you must feel so much better. if you feel healthy and fit then maybe you could carry on, but if you are starting to feel at all unwell then maybe it is time to stop. That is actually what made up my mind in the end, I was lightheaded and my iron levels were very low. So think about how you feel and if you are happy with the amazing difference you have made to your health.

Good luck in what you decide.

Well done Steveo - I understand exactly how you are feeling. I am closer to my goal, but have been on the plan for longer. I want to get my BMI as close to 25 as I can before going on to RTM, but I have set a deadline of 6 weeks and will then go onto RTM anyway (unless I change my mind)

Discuss it with your LLC, but I think that if you still have 7 stone to go, you should not go into RTM just yet.
