Hi ladies

Hope you don't mind me crashing in!! I wasn't sure where to begin a post/threas but then saw 'returners' and thought ''Thats me!''. I went from 15st 8lb to 11st, crept up to 12st 11lb, been playing around with food packs, all or nothing...bingeing too! Arhhh!! Anyway, I'm keeping that slim feeling at forefront of mind and hoping this time it will out weigh the foody thoughts!

Greenock gal, love the saying about big steam of *****....youre right...never a good/bad time as life happens whether we're slim/obese/dieting or not. I think so long as we focus on what we need then we'll all get there..baby steps or giant leaps, we'll get there!

I'm off to start a bloggy type thread and create a tracker....hopefully see you there also!

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your lovely note. unfortunately i didn't manage to get back on the wagon today either, just had a bit of a downer today, which is weird, as I had a lovely massage which helped me chill out, so not sure why I felt down.

I feel knackered from the massage though, so off to bed soon and hopefully a good nights sleep.

I popped into a charity shop today and bought a swimming cossie, so I'm (hopefully!) going to drag myself down the baths tomorrow for a swim - hope my hair doesn't turn green, ha ha!!

Me again! Worry, I read Julie's lovely post on the other page and just realised there was a whole page more of replies!!

Thank you ALL for your lovely comments, it really means a lot to me, as I mentioned before, even though the sun was shining, it was a bit of a poo day for me today, wrote a huge list of things I had to do (funeral acknowledgement for the newspaper, flowers for a friend, etc) and didn't do any of them, I sat down about an hour ago and realised the list was there, had totally forgotten I'd written it. Now I'm losing my mind as well, that's all I need!

Ah well, here's to tomorrow, can't be as bad as today!!

Puggso, it's not that bad!! My dad still lives up that way, although he's in Largs now, I still have a few friends in Gourock that I see from time to time (my longest friend came down to Blackpool for my mums funeral). I used to live in Mearns Street and went to the Cowdie High School - long gone now though!!

I do feel a bit sad when I go back there, my nan used to live in Kennilworth crescent, when I was a kid it was a lovely place, but I saw it deteriorate, and last time I was up there they were pulling it all down. Same for Antigua Court, my best pals gran lived there and we used to love it! Such a shame though.

BUT - it's still got the best views in the world, and whenever I am back up there and coming down the M8 or on the train, as soon as I see Diumbarton Rock, then I know I'm home, never tire of that view!!

Well, here goes, sorry if this is maybe a bit too much, but I've got to get it off my chest:

The postman has just been with the bill for my mum's funeral. On the bill, it says they provided a Repose dressing gown (ie a shroud).

I've just got really upset, I took some of mum's really nice clothes for her to wear, it was really important to me that my mum went up to heaven to meet my nanny and auntie Lily wearing nice things things, and not some plain old shroud.

I've rung the undertakers and they are going to get the chap who dealt with it to ring me back, but the question is now, how can I be sure? In my mind now, they've just binned my mums clothes and put her in any old thing. I don't think I can bear the thought of that, sitting here now crying thinking about it.

I had even asked the undertaker to put a colour on my mums hair for her, she'd be mortified to go anywhere without having her hair done, so now I'm even doubting that.

Sorry guys, don't mean to put a downer on you all, but I'm sitting here in the house on my own, and it was either try and offload a bit on here, or else stick my head in the fridge and completely pig out.

Offload all you like, things like that really matter when it comes to losing a loved one, I remember ironing a bright turquoise shirt for my brother to wear when he was buried. It had good memories and we'd laughed not long before that it was the brightest thing he'd even worn and was his 'bowling' shirt.
You did all you could and although you can't know for certain choose to believe that your instructions were followed. Probably just a standard bill they fill in and amend and that bit hasn't been deleted by mistake. If you ask me, its not the sort of thing you'd really want to see itemised on a bill anyway.... I think your mam will know you did your bit anyway. Hope the day picks up, could you pop out for some company and a coffee with a friend or something to take your mind off it. Hope you can, stay strong and take care x
