I might need your support

After over 40 years of yoyo dieting my weight is now at an all time high so its time for drastic steps.

I have spoken to my GP this morning who has told me there is no medical reason that I can not do a VLC diet although he gave me the lecture on it not being a long term solution and the dangers of burning off muscle!!

From GP to Pharmacy and I now have my first weeks supply of shakes, so come the 2nd January I am on Total Food Replacement.

Although I am totally committed to loosing the weight I am concerned about the withdrawal of both food and wine.

Any advice or survival tips for the first week, I have timed this for a busy time at work and hopefully the worst days will hit at the weekend when I can just lock myself away!!

looking forward to your help and support.

Hi I did it for 19 weeks and found it pretty easy as I liked the simplicity of it. I started looking at food differently and totally realised just how much I eat and how much I really needed to eat what I was. I'm
Going back on it from the second too, just trying to lose any I've put on over Christmas, the first week is hard plenty of water :) I found doing it at work much easier as I was so busy didn't really think about it. Also put I've in the shakes makes them so much better
Good luck

Hiya. I'm new too. Just started my TFR today and will definitely need help and support also. I'm no good for advice yet but have big ears (as well as big everything unfortunately:p) should you need. Good luck...let's do this!!

In a way i am really looking forward to tomorrow, i have spent today clearing out all the tempting foods left over from Christmas and making sure i am ready.

i know the comments i will get from my colleagues about this type of diet but i have discussed it with my GP and he could not find any medical reason not to do it so its D day tomorrow.

good luck to you both

I asked my pharmacist about muscle loss and he said he gained muscle after doing LT. Does that only happen if you don't excersize? Or on it too long?

You don't lose muscle at all on a vlcd. That's terrible a doctor saying that
