Starting tomorrow but alcoholic......

Hi all
Ive made an appt to see my pharmacist 9am tomorrow to get my Lipotrim after going for my initial consultation & watching the dvd.
My main problems with weight gain though are wine. I drink a lot and have been to AA meetings about it. I start around 6pm and can drink 2 bottles per night. this is usually my downfall of most diets.
But Im hoping that Lipotrim will work a) because I don't eat a lot and therefore shouldn't get hungry and b) if my body "re-adjusts" itself and stops cravings with food surely it might work with drink.
I need all the motivation I can so any kind words would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, a number of points here;
U cannot drink on Lipotrim.
The diet won't work, u won't get into ketosis.
It is dangerous to drink alcohol when in ketosis.
If u r drinking 2 bottles of wine per nite u should not stop abruptly, this can also b dangerous.
My advice to u would b to stop the drinking first with support hun. Good luck xx

Hi Amps.. You'll still have cravings for the first few days at a minimum anyway even if your diet consists mainly of alcohol because it's Carb based but that's neither here nor there because once Ketosis kicks in you'll shouldn't feel hunger. And the shakes are designed to help stave off hunger. But YeYe is right, u absolutely cannot drink on it. U may forget alcohol completely... Though as u are used to not eating that much.. This diet may actually help u because ur off food which ur used to anyway & u do get bucket loads of energy with it more often than not. Being off alcohol will prevent those usual come downs u would normally have in the eves which makes u drink every eve. Plus ur liver will get a much needed break... Even though it's breaking down fat on Ketosis it's not having to eliminate alcohol thus only eliminating toxins with the fat, so it's just replacing one chore with another which it's already used too! Plus your body will benefit as it loses both weight & toxins built up from yrs of alcohol. I would definitely give it a go if I was u! But get yourself prepared for the initial days... They are tough! Drink tonnes of water & coffee for caffeine boost when u struggle. Best of luck... Ps . I like a drink but don't miss it at all ;) keep us posted re ur decision. My advice would be to go for it as I think the high u'll get from detoxing and weight loss after a few days will see u through.

Thanks Curlylocks
Thats what Im hoping. Because my life at the moment is either no food with wine or when I do have nights off the wine I pig out on carbs as I the munchies.
Like yousaid Im hoping the fact that your pallette readjusts itself might work for the cravings for drink as well.
I competely understand you cant drink on this, I definitely wont, but I think the more lenient diets like WW where I can incorporate wine are not strict enough for me, Im an all or nothing person.
Im going to start it and see what happens
Ill let you know how I get on.

Hi wobblebottom Ive just had my first shake, a bit late but I went shopping afterwards. Inhad the vanilla one and actually found it quite nice! I blended it with a handful of ice cubes and sipped it. I havent got a sweet tooth so I actually find them alot more pallatable than someone who would be used to a really sweet milkshake. How about you, maybe we could be diet buddies?

Hi, I had vanilla blended with ice cubes too & found it ok. Am planning to have my second shake around 5 & then the last one at 9pm. It was the hunger at night when trying to get to sleep that I found difficult last time I did Lipotrim so going to leave the last shake as late as I can.

Yes, we can buddy up & support each-other. Tonight may be tough for us both as I normally associate a Friday night with a bottle of wine!

Tell me about it, so do I!!
Just had the chicken soup and actually found it was lovely. Because there are so many horror stories on here I was expecting them to all taste of nothing. I might do 2 soups and 1 shake next week cos Im more savoury than sweet. Just need a chuck of soda bread to dunk in it lol.
Im sure in a month Ill be sick of all of them but for now Im ok, no hunger.
Im like you I had my second one at 5 and Im gonna do a hot choc with peppermint tea around 9.
Good luck! X

Morning ampsabelle,

Day 1 over, hope day 2 is as easy. Woke up a couple of times in the night with hunger pains but soon got to sleep again. Going to have my first shake at 12:00 - which seems ages away. Spent last night & part of this morning reading Ava's Diary and it's really motivated me.

Hope you're doing ok.

Hi TJ... Drink water or black coffee if the hunger gets too much! Lots of coffee does stave the hunger.. Brush ur tongue & teeth when u get the metal taste. Best of luck with it... What's Ava's diary btw?

Good morning TJ (or afternoon now!)
I woke around 9.30 but that's cos hubby woke me - I reckon I could have slept a lot longer.
Dare I say it - Ive been absolutely fine. The vanilla shake wasn't as exciting this morning tho, might put a spoon of coffee in tomorrow.
I loved the soup for lunch but around 8pm I made a hot choc with peppermint tea and didn't like it at all, although my son was being a nightmare and I probably didn't actually get round to drinking it until 9pm which is probably why it was horrible. I might try making it into a mousse this evening. Im not a choc fan anyway tho, might try the strawberry next week.
Drinking the water is the hardest - I keep forgetting.
I got cramp a lot yesterday tho, Im assuming that's dehydration so Ive bought a litre bottle of water and carry around with me now, refilling it as and when.
Not really been hungry. Dreading tomorrow tho, isn't day 3 supposed to be the hardest?

Hi Curlyllocks,

Thanks for the advice. I'm drinking loads & as spending a lot of time in the bathroom!

'Ava's New Diary' is a diary in the Liportim Diaries section. It's really inspiring as it chronicles the highs, lows & gains of Lipotrim and after reading it I will think very hard before I eat something.

Hi ampsabelle,

Good to hear you're doing well. We're over half way through day 2 now & I'm also pleased to report that I'm not too hungry at all.

Vanilla shake again this morning for me. From what I remember the soup is good to warm you when the feeling of coldness associated with ketosis strikes. Don't know why I only asked for 2!

Next shake at 6 then another at 9:30. Will have to keep myself busy in the mean time. Husband is on nights today & tomorrow so no wine will be easies as I 'my used to no wine weekends when he's working. We both sat there with our cup of green tea last night!

Hope we both feel as good tomorrow as we do today.

Im hoping my weight loss will be a double wammy as with me drinking so much I have a bloated red face so that should disappear too!! fingers crossed the wine witch hasn't come a calling yet!!!

Hi TJ
How are you today? Im feeling good, not tired, not yet anyway.
Im starting to enjoy my morning vanilla shake and I love the soup, probably too much in fact. I love soup anyway and so Id say my main cravings are when I have the soup, I feel like another one almost immediately.
The chocolate wasn't too bad last night, I had it plain without the peppermint

Hi ampsabelle,

Great to hear you're still going strong. I'm still going & day 3 is nowhere near as bad as I was expecting; still got energy and not much hunger at all. Had chocolate shake last night & really enjoyed it. Might have to go into the chemist & get some more chocolate tomorrow. Having my last shake between 9 & 10 has also stopped the sleep problems I had last time I was on Lipotrim.

We should give ourselves a well deserved pat on the back!

So hoping to be under 12st at weigh-in on Friday.

Im the same as you. Ive been out all day at the beach etc and even though I hadn't had anything between 10am and 5pm felt strangely full!!
Ive a strange tingling at the tip of my tongue, do you think this could be ketosis starting?
How much do you weigh now if you don't mind me asking. Your stats say 11 11 but you say you want to under 12 this week.
I was 13, 7 pounds would be good for me.
I think I'll stick with the same flavours next week as Im enjoying them all now.
I cant help but jump on the scales every morning, I know I shouldn't!!
Day 4 soon hurray!!!

Don't mind you asking about my weight at all - I was 12st 7lbs at the chemist on Friday morning. Will need to login on and change my stats, don't think I can do it from my phone. Eventually I hope to get down to 9st 7lbs but I'm going to have a break as going on holiday on 9th Aug for 2 weeks. Plan is to return to Lipotrim when I get back.

A day at the beach sounds lovely. I took the dog for a walk earlier & my shorts were definitely looser.

Also forgot to say, ketosis should be kicking in today so that could be the sensation on your tongue.

I daily weigh too, it gives me motivation to see the scales going in a downward direction.
