Day 4

Sticking at this but finding it quite hard. Day 4 has been harder than days 1-3 - headaches, feeling hungry. BUT I will not give in! Any advice

I think i had what your feeling in my 2nd week. It will pass, i promise you. It does get much easier. And when you have your first weigh in, that will carry you through week 2. Sending ((hugs))
what day is you weigh in? :)

Hi I am on day 3 and had the feeling bad and headaches on day one and two. I have been on this diet before and go through this early and into ketosis and lost weight quickly

just keep swigging the horrible water and believe its something nice lol - yuk I hate it

I could cry but we've got to do this, let's face it you would chose to do this if you didn't want to would you

keep your end goal in site

My advice (for what it's worth) is to keep drinking water/black coffee/black tea and keep yourself busy. The first week went alright for me, but the second week was a killer (don't be put off - we're all different and it affects us in different ways, like I haven't had any headaches at all). Another thing is don't watch too much telly - I watched a whole day of 'Man vs Food' (I know...absolutely stupid) and, although it didn't seem to bother me at the time, the more I watched, the more hungry I got (probably why week 2 was bad). Everything on telly is geared towards us eating, even when we're not hungry. We need to get out of the mindset that when we do a certain thing we should eat - to watch a film we must have a pizza, or if we go out to watch a film, we must have a hotdog, popcorn and a massive drink.

Ok. So got over the initial hunger. Still motivated. Lost 6lb in week one and a further 6 in week 2. Only downside is the nausea I feel every morning and the lack of bowel movement. BUT already down another 2 lb so far this week and I have another 5 days to go. Don't have a massive amount to lose 2 st would be great, but 1 and 1/2 would get me to a weight where I feel good about myself! ;-)

Thanks Helen. I seem to have the odd difficult day, but with the support of my other half I manage to stay focused. On day 17 now and basically a stone lighter. Yay!

Lol Marcos! I know what you mean about tv. I was practically salivating watching the Great British Bake Off!

At a girl. It definitely isn't the easiest diet in the world, but the results are amazing lol
your doing so good, and it wont be long until you reach your goal... I wish i was that lucky i still have 5/6 st to go (she gulps lol) ;) xx

You'll get there Helen. This is a great site for support. Mostly I am strong willed and determined but I have to admit to having a real urge every now and then to eat a proper dinner. It's hard when my 12 year old leaves half a M&s pie and gravy because she's apparently 'not hungry'! A few weeks ago I would have scoffed her left overs and then had my own dinner. I guess it really is about breaking bad habits. ....pie looked good though :cry:lol

Absolutely, the left overs u wouldn't count as a meal, yet they add up! I have noticed the smell of food, which i took no notice of before! Oh i miss so many things lol too many to mention :) id settle for anything at this stage ;)
one day i will be able to sit down to a proper meal lol just not any day soon ;)

DOK, Hez - you're both doing very well and seem to have the mentality to complete this diet. I'd have eaten that pie and gravy and then looked for something else! The thing you need to look out for - and it's getting to me - is boredom. Don't be too disheartened when you only lose small amounts, either.

Markos. It takes great will power. Sometimes I really struggle. I miss food! Two more weeks TFR and then refeed before maintenance. God give me the strength to see it through. Looking forward to a glass of Shiraz and a hot meal.

Of course it takes great willpower and you are doing it and that's great. I think we all struggle from time-to-time - I know I do but, as someone else has mentioned, we've eaten and eaten well for years, so to try and change that isn't going to be a quick fix. I started in the middle of July and will be on this until the end of September (hopefully), when I'll have a break, see where everything is up to and then maybe start again. You're very nearly at the end of this and where you want to be (?), so looking at when you started you should do one, maybe two weeks Maintenance and your pharmacist (if they're any good), should help you and you'll know what to eat and how much. Good luck.

Thanks Markos. I love that the weight comes off quick but hate the sick feeling I have every single morning- thought I was having palpitations this morning. It goes away after I drink a big glass of water. I guess I'm dehydrated even though I drink between 2 and 3 litres every day. AND I MISS FOOD! Lol. It's great you can think as far ahead as the end of September - at the minute I'm trying to focus on one week at a time. Have the shakes in for this week and getting next weeks on Friday as Monday is bank holiday. After that ill play it by ear. On the plus size all my size 12 work dresses fit perfectly and I managed to get into an old pair of size 10 jeans (they're probably a big 10 but I don't care it's the psychology behind it) every time I am tempted I think 'nothing tastes a good as thin feels' to try to keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm not hungry at all I just miss sitting down and eating a meal. In our house we gobble and eat so fast. When I Start eating again I intend to savour every mouthful!!!!!!! and I've become obsessed with food shopping and cooking for my daughter and husband. I even sit at the table and watch them eat - I must be a sadist! But - every night I go to bed closer to the weight I want to be. Would love a day off this though - have a warm chicken salad and a glass of red.
looking iin the mirror no longer depresses me. My face is so much thinner and I can see such a difference in how my clothes hang. My husband keeps staring at me saying'youve no idea what a difference the weight loss has made', which pleases me greatly and helps keep me going - it DOES make you feel good about yourself.
END OF INTERNAL DEBATE/CONVERSATION.

I know what you mean, it's hard when your family are sat there munching all these amazing smelling foods & you're there with yet another glass of water. Usually I am a real sweet tooth but all I've craved for is a slice of bread! Aaarrgghh! I'm on day 10 and have been struggling for the past couple of days. I've got a lot to lose & keep thinking 'no real food for months' but I haven't caved yet.

DOK will you be posting your re feeding & maintenance as I would be interested in how you get on.

Marjo, I will let you know how that goes. It is hard, but this is a great site. When I get frustrated by it I come on here and read to be inspired or just to know that I'm not the only person struggling. It's not the hunger- I don't feel hungry, it's just that I love food! Lol! When you see the weight coming off it spurs you on. I was initially inspired by a friend who did it. I hadn't seen her in a few months and when I did she'd lost 3 st and looked amazing - she told me about lipotrim. She is now on maintenance and says that she stays true all week, but allows herself a treat on a Friday or Saturday evening. I found days 10-13 quite tough, but getting weighed and having 6lb off made it all worth while. I guess it's like most things - it's tough at the time, but when you look back you think it wasn't so bad! When I was struggling the other day I went to my wardrobe and tried on some clothes that were a little tight on me. Feeling them fit comfortably really gave me the impetus to stick at it. good luck with it - it really works and I think it's about remembering why we decided to do it in the first place. I don't want to look in the mirror and hate what I see looking back.

Watching people eat isn't a problem, I'm like a hamster drinking out my water bottle, while they eat lol
however this evening some old boy had loads of vinegar on his chips! Omg the smell was beautiful, i could have drank straight from the vinegar bottle. Funny thing is i don't have vinegar on my chips lol what is that about!!!

That's so funny Helen. I love vinegar on chips! Yum! Suddenly all sorts of foods start smell fabulous. :-(

Ooh I know what you mean, husband & daughter had fish & chips last night, utter torture! On the other hand though I have three bin liners of clothes that I either grew out of or bought because I would slim in to. I got one out yesterday & could fit into some of them which was fantastic. It's a great feeling. DOK you're right - there's so much inspiration & support.
