The Lipotrim Pharmacy Programme

The Lipotrim Pharmacy Programmes do not require a medical referral

Lipotrim has teamed up with some independent pharmacists to introduce the Lipotrim programme into the pharmacy environment. Pharmacists are highly trained members of the health care team and provide many medical services for their customers. The participating pharmacists are able to offer the same Lipotrim programme as the GP programme, allowing those without significant medical problems access to fast, reliable weight loss.
The pharmacy programme works the same way as the GP programme. You need to be overweight and serious about losing it. There are a few medical restrictions so you will need to fill out a medical screening form at the pharmacy.
If you are accepted for the programme, you will have to attend the pharmacy weekly for weight and possible ketone measurements.
There is a short video and written materials are available to assist you on the programme.
This programme is pharmacy based and run by the pharmacist and is not available for over the counter sale or mail order

Obesity treatment in 3 distinct phases ......

Phase one is the weight loss phase and requires strict total food replacement. This is usually the easiest part of the programme. After the patient develops ketosis weight loss is assured, provided the patient continues to follow the programme. Weight targets are met when the medical indication for weight loss is reached. This could range from a few stones in preparation for surgery or reduction of blood pressure of diabetes control, all the way to the achievement of a ‘normal range’ BMI for that individual patient.

Phase two is a brief but critically important transition and refeeding phase which serves to minimise glycogen and water repletion. This structured transition period usually takes a week and is critical for the patient to regain control of appropriate food selection behaviours. Phase two involves both traditional foods and Lipotrim meal replacements.

Phase three is for weight maintenance. Weight maintenance involves eating normal ordinary everyday foods, concentrating on reducing dietary fat intake. Patients need to learn that the disciplines required for weight maintenance are different from those required for weight loss. Weight maintenance strategies, largely built on education towards a low dietary fat intake and less sedentary lifestyle, are taught in detail. Weight loss by any method should not be expected to have a lasting effect on weight stability. Patients have to accept the responsibility for making changes from their previous eating behaviour or they will be fat again. The failure to teach unique weight maintenance strategies has contributed to an appalling record of weight maintenance. Weight maintenance is different from weight loss and requires long term support.

The benefits of The Lipotrim Programme

weight loss ......

Weight loss of 3 to 5 pounds per week is normal and sustainable whilst on Lipotrim therapy. Weight losses of at least 1 stone per month are typical for women, higher for men. This rate of weight loss is commonly experienced, even in those patients who have failed to lose weight on other diets.

lack of hunger ......

After the first few days, lack of hunger is an extraordinary feature of Lipotrim therapy. Patients often report an associated feeling of well being. These two factors, coupled with the steady and noticeable weight loss, aid compliance with the diet.

Hi Maughrim,

No...is the simple answer to Jasmine tea.

And it is very important that you drink at least four pints of water in addiction to your usual tea and coffee consumption. Plus the water you use to mix your milkshakes.

I lost five stone with Lipotrim

What day are you on and how are you feeling?

If there are any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Love Mini xxx

Diet: Cambridge Diet
Hi Maughrim Nice to meet another Lipotrimmer. I have been on the diet now since 1st June and have lost 2 and a half stone. The first week is the worst, but you will soon begin to feel the benefits and have great weight loss.

Diet: Cambridge Diet
I am on this Lipotrim programme under medical supervision and have my blood checked every 2 weeks. I asked the Doctor when I started would I be able to have a cup of tea with milk. He said that it would not be a problem as long as it did not make me hungry. I used to drink at least 4 cups of tea a day before LT, but I cut down to a morning cuppa with semi-skimmed milk. I enjoy this one cup of tea and I continue to lose weight. It does not make me hungry. I understand that Lipotrim is a very restricted diet and this is why I asked about tea. I am lucky in that I can ask a Doctor about any worries I have, but luckily there have not been many. You will probably find that you will lose your taste for other drinks and enjoy plain water.

Hope this helps.

So good to hear of a supportive GP - too often we hear about the ones who don't support VLCDs, lovely to hear of one that does

Hi all. My doctor supports it now. I was going to have to start taking blood pressure tablets as my blood pressure was over 180, but after going on the LT diet for about 12 weeks (with a break for the world cup) my blood pressure is now normal.

He did a blood test just to see that everything was ok, because he said that it was a lot of weight to lose so quickly (over 4 stone now, and falling ) and it came back fine.

So if I can keep the weight off when I start to eat in a months time it will have been of great value to my health. And my doctor agrees.

My own doctor was a bit unsure when I told her I was on Lipotrim as she herself is a gold member with WW and looks brill for it...young, dynamic and beautiful with it.

But she change her mind about when she seen how well I have done on, especially as my blood pressure is 'text book perfect', is how she described it.

I heard on the grape vine that she is now telling other people about it...

The best thing I ever did was going on Lipotrim and losing five stone weight.

Hi Maughrim

Just a note to say I hope you have had a good week on the LT.

Next week, you will be enjoying the milkshakes especially if you whisk them up well and add some ice.

The chicken soup, being rather bland, is tastier with some black pepper. I add salt too, I must get some of that Lo-salt though; better for you.

It would be nice if there was more variety. Perhaps we should sign a petition a get Lipotrim to provide at least 2 more flavours, banana would be great!

Hi Maryln,

The idea of a limited selection is that you break the connection with solid food whilst on the diet and in return it is believed your addiction.

Lipotrim say that they deliberately keep it bland and boring for such reasons.
