why bother with surgery when u can do lipotrim?

I dont think surgery is handed out to anyone. Most people who go for Weight Loss Surgery do it as an absolute last resort because nothing else has worked and theyve tried everything else. If you look at the Weight Loss Surgery Site Minimins has youll see people dont just get 'handed' surgery, most have to wait for long periods of time, jump through hoops and then some to get considered. Its a long battle for most to get that far.

Not everyone can do a VLCD. Its all relative. People on SW etc think why on earth would anyone do something like a VLCD when you can lose weight eating healthy. If it was that simple none of us would be over weight in the first place

I think it is a case of getting the weightloss solution that it right for the individual.

I would struggle with a diet that wasn't 100% set in stone (and also involves no fuss like weighing ingredients, etc) which is why LT fitted me perfectly. If you look at the forums though you see many people starting on LT that can't maintain it even for the first week - they don't have the right mindset or it does make them feel ill so they would have to look for other solutions.

I think you are coming at this from the angle that dieting isn't easy and requires willpower and if so then yes, that is something I agree with. The statement that weight-loss surgery is handed out too readily is something that I don't know anything about and can't comment on although I would have to say that personally, I wouldn't like to be in a position where I felt I needed that surgery in the first place. I'm not a great believer in cosmetic type surgery (especially for non-medical reasons) and I would have tried all other avenues first. I would assume that some of those people having the surgery would also have felt the same and it must be a tough decision for those to make in accepting the treatment.

You have to weigh up (no pun intended) the cost effectiveness of the options too. It could be cheaper and easier to use surgery than explore other longer term options such as 'fat camps' and training the mind, etc. A quick fix in weight terms may be cheaper than repeat medical care due to obesity issues.

It all gets a bit grey and I hate talking about subjects I know little about (as in weight-loss surgery) but ultimately I'm just happy that I could address my issues with a fairly short-term diet that suited me thanthe alternative of going under a surgeons knife.

Now if anyone could pass me a ladder so I could get down from this horse . . . :p :D

Hello,

This is my very first post and was interested in the topic of weight loss surgery as I was on the verge of asking my doctor if he would support and refer me for surgery when I was introduced to Lipotrim through a friend.

I have tried so many other diets throughout my adult life and have struggled with what is an addiction to food. It has been my best friend and my worst of enemies. My decision to choose Lipotrim was the thought of having very visible results very rapidly which I know could keep me motivated, and all this without the risk of surgery. I do worry slightly about life after the programme but I know that if I can stick to it and having struggled to pay for it then that will add to my reluctance to return to old eating habits. I have only been following TFR for 3 weeks and have already lost 21lbs, so am feeling really motivated at the moment.

apologies to all, i was hyped up after seeing one of those stupid programmes on tv that makes everything look like its dished out, i should know by now they're all about the ratings!

Hi all. I saw this post and felt I had to reply. I had a gastric band fitted in 2007. I was very ill informed prior to having the surgery and thought, like many, that it would be a quick and easy fix. It cost £8,000 (or to be accurate cost my mum £8,000). I did not lost as much as a pound. Prior to surgery I had to go on a milk diet to shrink my liver so that the surgeon could get to my stomach easier and on the milk diet for a week I lost 10lb but that was the total. The advice is to eat without drinking but I couldn't do that as I ended up sick every time so had to drink. I also ended up eating more sloppy unhealthy foods to avoid the problem with being sick. Long story short I ended up having to have surgery to remove my gallbladder last year and they noticed that the band was not connected and also fitted too high which could explain the problems. Anyway I digress.... so they took out the gastric band and I have struggled since then and not managed to lose (but not put any on). Well yesterday I started what I considered to be something radically different, namely lipotrim and I am hoping to get the quick results I hear about. The point I am making is that surgery is not always the answer and it is an individual decision. For me it definitely did not work and I am hoping that lipotrim does because I really have tried everything else to no avail.:)

wow! im so sorry to hear you have had such a rough time, i would not wish that on anyone. u r definately in the best place to succeed on whatever diet you choose as the support from everyone on this site will be the motivation to get you through. from personal experience, lipotrim works as long as you stick to it. i lost 2 stone in the first month and feel like a 'normal' looking human being again! i definately would not have got hru the first few weeks without this site! good luck, and please keep us up to date on your progress, i wish you all the luck in the world x

Thanks so much Jo Mummy :). I know what you mean. I saw this site ages ago as an app for my phone but after downloading it I never used it. Then about a week ago I had another look and though I may as well give this a go lol. Since starting lipotrim and joining the site I have been addicted to the posts. Everyone is so supportive and the tickers are great because it shows me that it can be done. It helps to know others are doing it and it makes me believe I can do it too. 2 days of lipotrim and I'm down 7lb which gobsmacked me. I know I know, I'm not supposed to jump on scales lol but I could not help myself. I feel very motivated now even if I do feel a bit sicky from the shakes x

wow well done thats a brilliant loss! i weighed myself every day for about two weeks, dont feel guilty, its major motivation to keep going when you see things like that!

Thanks Jo. Well day 4 and after 3 days on lipotrim I'm down 8lb so you are right it is definitely motivating to see such good results so quick. I will stop the guilt immediately :). You are doing amazingly well with your weight loss by the way which is good inspiration for me.

wow, 8lb in 4 days is amazing!! i bet your body has already started to change shape, image how fabyou'll look and feel in another couple of weeks! i actually cant believe how much weight ive lost, i tried loads of other diets and even spoke to the doctor and seemed to be getting nowhere, so to see such a quick result is almost beyond belief! and now rather than saying 'ive got to lose at least 4 stone' (and never really believing it was possible) im saying 'i rally need to lose at least another 1.5stone' which seems really achievable!

Thanks Jo. You have done so well sticking to it. As it is tough going. Your weight loss is very inspiring. Today I was doing so well and then something came over me and I felt absolutely starving even though it is day 5. I grabbed the spoon and ate a tbsp of Nutella. OOOh I am so annoyed with myself. There isn't much I can do now though. I suppose I just have to go onwards and upwards.

dont beat urself up about it, at least u stopped at that, it could have been so much worse. the only things you can do in those situations is drink, loads of water, remve urself from the kitchen, ideally go for a walk or get out of the ouse and get distracted! or, if its in the evening, go to bed and you will wake up feeling much better. we all have off days,

Big difference is LT is a choice, that requires an incredible amount of will power and let's face it doesn't taste nice. Surgery is ideal for those who don't have th will power.

Only thing in common is hat both require a massive shift in attitude towards food afterwards

I'm starting lipotrim tomorrow for 1 month to kick start my weight loss I had wls 3 yrs ago and I've lost 14 stone but had lost 15 but recently seen a bit of expected regain so having done lipotrim successfully before I thaught I may aswell do it short term to get the weight right down and doit right by refeeding and maintainable programme in the next 2 to 3 months
