Thx Harriet
Yeah the lt advisor was very helpful today and clarified a lot of things for me. Are you still on maintenance? Im having 2 bars and 1 low fat meal consisting of 4-6 oz chicken or fish with either a balsalmic vinegar dressed sald or veg, avoiding spuds, pasta and bread for the moment. Do you have anything in between to snack on?

Am thinking about replacing the bar at brekkie and having 2 weetabix & semi skimmed milk or porridge made on water. These would be lighter calorie wise than the bar. What do ye think?

Porridge is brilliant for you, and you can top it with a tsp of honey/splenda, and fresh fruit! It's really low GI/GL. Go for it!
Plus it helps lower cholesterol, not that you'd be eating things high in saturated fat anyway.

I had porridge yesterday- wasnt overly impressed but that was because I used no milk only water - I just didnt want to walk to the shop and get skimmed milk.

Plus the apricots were a tiny bit bitter in it and I couldnt taste the honey

But i was full for ages

Right gonna start porridge tomorrow so, normally make it with water then add spoon of sweetner, its lower in calories than the maint bar so should help. AM gonna stick with the maint soup cos its scrummy for lunchtime.

Didn't Tracy say somewhere that weetabix would do the same as the maintanence bars and they are a lot cheaper. I find porridge very heavy on my stomach .....
How are u finding portions. Are u filling up easily. Can u leave stuff on ur plate...

Hi all,
Well went for my wi this morn and am down another 2 lbs so am delighted. Have 11 weeks to go before I could go back on tfr but if I keep losing 2 lb a wk for the 11 wks then I might not need to go back on tfr as I would be very close to goal.
Didnt replace the bar this morn with brekkie as I got delayed and didnt eat til lunchtime so had the bar then. Will start it in the morning.
Teg - Portion wise Im having 4-6oz of fish or chicken each day, and having no calorie veggies like broccli, cauliflower and carrots, not mad about potatoes but have them maybe 2-3 times a week. Havent eaten pasta or rice yet but not missing them either. Having 'chips' today, sliced potatoes tossed in a tiny bit olive oil and black pepper, never tried them before but hopefully they will be nice. I tend to only give myself the amount of food that I think Im going to eat and even then sometimes a small amount is left behind.

Cathy,
Im trying to stick to veg that have no calories in them and ones that are low gi also. I have bought a low gi book but havent really got round to jotting down what I like eating thats low gi. Generally am adding handful of broccli & cauliflower to the maint soup and then for dinner it can be a mixture of carrots, turnips, corn on cob, broccli or cauliflower. Have had cabbage the odd day too. Thats kind of as exciting as I get when it comes to veg.

An idea for you what I did today. Went to tescos this morning and they sell big bags of peeled sliced carrots ready to eat. Great for on the go or if you're a bit peckish. Like today I had my choc whip and was planning to have veg soup with some in with broccoli too but had to drive someone to hospital as her mum had been taken in so missed lunch but when I was sat in car waiting with my stomach growling I remembered i'd got em so had a couple of handfuls to put me on til my dinner in eve.
