Well, Kirby's refeeding.

Well. I was going to give TFR 10 weeks, but I only made it to 7. Be grand.

So, I'm going to refeed for 2 weeks - for people who were confused as to what my plan was here, that's two consecutive weeks of following the week's plan to the letter.

I'm terrified of gaining weight back, because I did Lipotrim in 2007, didn't refeed properly and put back almost everything I'd lost, in the space of about six months. So I'm not going to deviate even a tiny bit from the plan.

Last TFR weigh-in is tomorrow, and first day of refeed. First time setting foot in Tesco in 7 weeks!

Wish me lucK!

Congrats Kirby ..you have done brilliant ..great weight loss in 7 weeks and I hope that you continue to lose during refeed ;)
I find Lt very anti-social so I plan to refeed before Christmas and maybe try to do low carb for awhile and if I can face it again ..I may go back to Lt after the break :D

Thanks Orcanomore (BEST USER NAME. Well done.) Best of luck to you, that was my reason for wanting to get my re-feed done, too! People are pestering me about drinking already.

Ok, so. Day 1. Got weighed for my last weigh-in as a TFR-er. Lost 4lbs, very happy, down to 11st now from a starting weight of 13. Would love to lose another half stone by Christmas! And another stone-and-a-bit overall, just to get me into the 9st bracket.

She gave me a packet of 5 free maintenance samples - 3 shakes, a cream of veg soup, and a maintenance bar. (the bars are much smaller than I thought they would be, but the pharm assures me they're very filling).

So I toodled off to Tesco and I bought my turkey and my salady bits and some fruit and wholegrain pitta breads and hummus for Days 4-7! (FYI, I told the pharm I don't like mayonnaise, and she said it was fine to substitute things like hummus or relish or pesto, as long as it's low fat and low carb).

So I got home and had my first shake - a Summer Fruits one - and holy God, it was so thick, it was like drinking fruity whipped cream! It was glorious. Felt very decadent. Quite filling though, and after about half of it I started to feel quite full, but I drank the rest of it because I don't want to mess with the programme in any way - you're probably supposed to keep to a certain amount of calories a day to prevent going into the dreaded fat-storing "starvation mode". No thank you. But it was great to have something that's a different consistency to the other boring old shakes.

So then, the fun begins. For my lunch I made a turkey salad -
- 5oz of turkey breast, grilled on the George Foreman, to squeeze out the excess fat!
- 5 cherry tomatoes
- a few slices of yellow bell pepper
- A couple of slices of onion.
- A small handful of mixed lettuce leaves, with some coriander leaf mixed through it (my favourite garnish leaf, I missed it!)
- A good splash of balsamic vinegar (probably more than the recommended, but I LOVE vinegar in the way that some people love hot sauce or ketchup etc...I put it on everything! I was SO excited to hear I could have it!)

It was SO GOOD. I never thought such a simple little salad could be so satisfying and flavourful! I had it for lunch rather than dinner. I'll have the maintenance bar at 5 or 6 o clock, and that'll be dinner.

I'm going to have this exact meal for days 2 and 3 as well. I want to keep the palate pretty strictly cleansed and not start going mad for different flavours all at once, because before you know it, I'll be thinking "GEE I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT A CHEESEBURGER TASTES LIKE, I'D BETTER HAVE ONE AND FIND OUT!".

Well done Kirbygirl, so glad you are planning on sticking to the re-feed plan properly. I can actually sense the excitement from your last post about lunch!

Best of luck with it all and keep us updated :)

isnt it great to taste proper food again :) enjoy

h x

omg the caramel bars.

So filling.

So tasty.

I can't wait for it to be tomorrow so I can have another one :-/

Day 2.

A word of advice to y'all. Do NOT make the chocolate whip into a hot chocolate. It's too thick for too little water (maybe I should have halved the mixture) and was really stiff and sticky and gloopy and disgusting. Yuck!

So that was breakfast. Throwing it away after a mouthful and making another would have been a waste of a shake. They're not cheap, like :p Ew.

Lunch and dinner will be the same Turkey salad as yesterday :)

Good stuff. Keep us updated :)

It's so flipping cold I'm throwing my sliced pepper, tomato and onion into the George Foreman too!

I had two small pickles too!

Day 3.

Breakfast: Delicious maintenance bar. I don't think I'll ever have the need for a KitKat again as long as I have these babies.

Lunch (FIRST INTRODUCTION OF POTATOES OHGOD I'm SCARED THEY'LL GO STRAIGHT TO MY THIIIIIGHS)

- 8oz baby new potatoes, steamed.
- 4oz King prawns
- cherry tomatoes
- bit of hummus for the spuds
- coriander leaf for garnish.

Sounds like a weird combo, about to make it now, I think it'll be nice though!

Later, around 6pm I'll have 2 boiled eggs (I read on here that, as confirmed by Lipotrim officials, you can substitute two eggs for one 4-6oz meat or fish portion), with some salad.

omg eggs are so sexy.

And whywhywhy can't I stop eating pistachio nuts? Uh-oh.

Day 4! The fun day.

Breakfast - caramel bar of my heart. Mmmmm. Although they're a bit like marzipan, which I hate, so I'm confused as to why I like them so much. I think it's just because I missed sweet things so much!

Snack 11am - banana, 10 pistachio nuts. Tip - my pharm told me to eat sugary complex carbs like fruit with some protein - so always to accompany fruit with a couple of nuts - because the protein helps the body to break down the carbs more easily.

Lunch 1pm (packed) = 1 wholewheat pitta, stuff with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, 2 slices of deli ham (fatty rind cut off) and a teaspoon of hummus.

Dinner when I go home will be a steamed salmon darne, 8oz potatoes and a small salad.

Gonna try and keep away from the pistachios this evening...if I put weight up this week, I'll know why...

Hmmm, update, tummy feeling a bit bloated. Hope I'm not overloading the carbs. I'm weighing everything, etc.

MORE WATER.

Day 5

Brekkie - coffee and maintenance bar. Not losing its deliciousness!

Lunch: Baked salmon with slices of onion and bell peppers, with sweet potato mash (less starchy than white potato)

Dinner: Pitta with lettuce and coriander leaves, and home-made egg salad, using hummus instead of mayo.

Snack later: a few pistachio nuts and a banana.

Awesome. Cannot wait to try the maintenance bar!

I weighed myself this morning and I'm up 2lbs...but I'm not worried as today is the first day of time of the month, so I'm usually up a couple of lbs.

Anyway!

Day 6

Breakfast - maintenance bar and a cup of three cinnamon tea (mmm, tastes of Christmas).

snack - thirty million pistachio nuts

lunch - pitta with hummus, 2 slices ham, lettuce and cherry tomatoes

Dinner - haven't decided yet, I'll have to go to Tesco (the one thing I miss about TFR was never having to go to Tesco!). Probably chicken, and I'll grill it and have sweet potatoe mash and a small serving of veg :)

lunch - had a wholewheat pitta with hummus,a couple of slices of turkey cold cuts and a few slices of and gherkin and cherry tomatoes. Few lettuce leaves.

I'm still finding that this sort of food, which I would have found really plain and been complaining about before LT - is bursting with flavours and interesting textures now. 7 weeks of bland shakes and cardboardy flapjacks have made my palate very appreciative of flavour!

Thnking a maintenance bar for dinner as I am reeeeaaalllllllyyyyy craving something sweet (stupid totm, it's totally gonna affect my first refeed weigh-in too, urrrggghhh being a girl is horrible sometimes)

I did lipotrim before and after eating nothing for so long healthy foods become so appealing :)
