Hi Everyone,

I have recently joined lighter life and am now on day 13. So far so good! Overall I have found the diet pretty OK although have had a few days where I have felt I couldn't do it. Each of those times I just drank more water and reminded myself of what my goal is. I have felt very unhappy with my weight for the last 2/3 years and have ballooned to 16 stone 4. I have already lost 6 pounds in my first week and am looking forward to my second weigh in on Monday.

I just wanted some opinions from anyone who has done the diet before/currently on the diet about a few things:

1. As I said before my start weight was 16 stone 4 and I really want to get down to between 9 - 10 stone by around September time. Is this realistic?
2. I only like 4 of the shakes and cannot stomach any of the other packs. Has anyone else had similar experiences as I am worried that I will get bored of the shakes?

For the first time in a long time I am so determined to lose the weight and I have a wardrobe full of size 8-10 clothes that I cannot wait to wear again.

Would be great to hear other people's experiences and chat with people who are currently on the diet too.

Look forward to hearing from any fellow Lighter-lifers!

Tess :)

Hi,

I've been on LL since January 6th. I did it before but life got in the way.

With regards to your goal, they say that you can expect to lose on average of a stone per month but it really depends on the individual. All you can do is follow the plan and drink the water and see where you are in September.

With regards to the packs, give it a few weeks and then retry some of the others as your tastebuds will change. I know someone that literally just has chocolate shakes and they are fine with that. I started off this time with just chocolate and vanilla shakes, then dropped the vanilla, then picked up the shepherds pie and now have strawberry shakes rather than chocolate. I do have a nut-fudge bar a day as well. What I'm saying is don't write anything off completely :)

I wish you all the best with LL. This forum is pretty quiet recently but I'm usually lurking, I've just not been very vocal recently and my poor diary has been somewhat neglected.

Hi Libby,

Thanks for the reply and congratulations on being on the plan since January! How much have you lost?

Your advice was great and I think I need to focus on each day rather than my ultimate goal. I've never lost 6 pounds in one week before so the diet truly does work.

How have you found the journey? Has it got easier as it has gone along?

Tess

I've lost just over 2 stone so far. I've been struggling for the past few weeks as life really has been trying to test me. The way I look at it is I would rather slip up a few times now and address the issues that caused the lapses and really learn to identify my problems rather than be perfect all the way through, get into the world of food and put it all back on again.

A lot of it has been caused by me learning things about myself that I didn't know and that has been really difficult but I haven't given up which is the main thing. The last time I did LL, it was plain sailing for 12 weeks until something happened then I lapsed and never went back.

One thing that has made this process a bit more bearable is that this time I decided to treat myself for every stone lost. Trying to thing of something non food related is interesting and a good habit to get into for after the plan. Lots of mini milestones is kinder to yourself than not having any treats til you reach your goal.

I think whatever you need to do to get yourself through (as long as its to plan) has to be good.

Hi Caroline 17 I’ve just started lipotrim I’m guessing it’s the same kind of thing as you’re on. I’m only on day 2! But going ok so far! How are you doing? Can you exercise on these type of diets? Xx
