Hi everyone :)

Long time lurker here, but finally joined today.
I have 117 lbs to lose and I am so excited to be a part of minimins now and get started on my mission to shed those lbs.
My head has been in the wrong place for a while now, but now it's in the right place and I'm sooo ready for this.

I would like to get to 200 lbs to start with, then take it from there, so as of today - Monday 14th October 2013, I have 117 lbs to go.

I've always been bigger, and over the last few years, I've slowly been piling on those pounds.

My partner and I both work for an oil company and we work long hours - leaving the house at 7am, getting home at 6.30pm, so we are always eating out (it doesn't help living in the city centre and having take aways and restaurants at our doorstep!), and cooking is the last thing on my mind after a hard days work! But no excuses now.....

My photo was in the local newspaper last week and I was disgusted with the way I look. It was a full body shot, and that made me realize that I have to do something about my weight NOW

My plan is just to watch what I'm eating - healthy, plenty of fruit and veg to begin with, protein, and cut out all the rubbish esp alcohol!
I'm 100% ready now to change my eating habbits and to get more exercise....

I have the willpower!

Hello!

Welcome to WeMITTS - I was one lb less than you last June and now I am at 21st. I haven't been in the local paper like you but I also work long days and have been big since my high school days (I'm 28 now).

It is hard to get your head round some aspects of losing weight, even now having been on WW since June 2012 (with a break when my meeting closed) I can, without thinking, easily pick up something very unhealthy as that is what i have always done for many many years. However, I am on a journey to re-educate myself and now take time to think about what I will have during the week and go to Asda and stock up. There are so many healthy foods (and dead tasty) around now too which make it easier.

So good luck on your journey, when the weight starts coming off it gives you a proper buzz. I went to WI this morning and lost 4.5lbs - I did have a weird 2.5lb gain last week which I didnt understand (thats another thing that can happen - you can gain weight and you wont know why) but it's come off with more and I feel like I am on a high :D

Hi Tina :)

Thank you so much!
That's exactly what I'm doing, re-educating my self and taking time to think about what I eat.
Can't wait to get on the scales on Monday and see a loss - this will motivate me even more.
We can do this : )

Day 2

Well yesterday was my first day on plan and it went well!

Breakfast in the office
Bowl of Special K cereal with a tiny bit of milk. (I really dislike milk, so when I say tiny, I mean tiny! Just enough to make it not dry)
An apple
Green Tea

Lunch
Tin of Weight Watchers Chicken soup
An apple
Green tea

Afternoon Snack
Banana

Dinner at 7.30 pm :(
Bag of Asda veggies done in microwave - broccoli, cauliflower & carrots (so delicious and easy!)
Weight Watchers lemon & chicken risotto

So drinks was 2 cups of green tea and water.
I am lucky enough to have a water cooler in my office, so I just kept filling up my cup. (And peeing every 20 minutes!)

Bring on today x

Good luck - I am sure you will do really well on Monday!

I also work long hours and know how easy it is to fall into the habit of picking up crap. But if you actually look quite a lot of places do offer healthy options. Also the occasional chicken kebab without sauce is OK (at least in my head)! I figure I have to have occasional treats once a month otherwise I won't stick to it.

Keep drinking

well done on your day x

Thank you for the kind comments everyone :)

I've had a terrible headache from lunchtime yesterday. I've been guzzling the water constantly.
Before, I would drink perhaps 3 cans of Pepsi Max in the office, then pints of Diet Coke in the evening.
Since Sunday, I haven't had any fizz.... just water and green tea so I think my headache is to do with that! Who knows, but it's my mission to give up the fizz!

Day 3

Breakfast in the Office

5 strawberries chopped up
Handful of Grapes
Sliced apple
2 large spoons of natural yogurt

Lunch
4 X Ryvita with Extra light philadelphia spread and chopped cucumber slices
Weight Watchers strawberry mousse
Apple

Dinner
Chopped red onion, Yellow & Red Pepper & Corguette fried in pan with fry light spray
Weight Watchers Mousakka

Liquids
Water, water, water & 2 cups of Green Tea

Another day at 100%.
It's hard. But I have to keep going :)

Yes, that definitely sounds like caffeine withdrawal! I got that when I went cold turkey from the mega strong black coffee I drink, lol. I still drink it, but in moderation now! Maybe just allow yourself one or two, or a coffee? No point being in pain needlessly. :) xx

I thought it was something to do with that!
I got into such a bad habbit with it, infact that's all I would drink. I am not a fan of tea or coffee, so cans of fizz it was :(

I'd maybe cut down more gradually then, if I were you. I used to drink a lot of fizz, but now only have it when we eat out. But I'll never give up my coffee, lol. :D xx

Day 4

Another good day food wise yesterday but the headache didn't shift :/
Definatley caffine withdrawal from the fizz. Evil stuff :p

Breakfast in the Office
Oats so simple porridge oats with a tiny bit of milk
Apple

Lunch
Bag of Asda green salad leaves (bargain at 99p)
Pack of asda prawns mixed in
Drizzle of fresh Lime juice
Apple

Dinner
Grilled Salmon with chinese 5 spice rub
Pack of veggies from Asda - broccoli, caluliflower & carrots

Liquids
Water, water & more water

No green tea, had my fizzy juice withdrawal head ache so I just stuck to water.

Also, Loving these pre made veggie and lettuce leaves packs from the fresh fruit & veg section in the supermarkets, so cheap and colourful!

minus117 your doing great x

Day 5

Feeling great and positive today... it's Friday which means everyone in the office normally has a McDonald's or KFC, etc, but I wasn't even tempted today. I will stick to my Salad thank you :p

Lunch
Pack of green lettuce leaves with salmon slices chopped up and a drizzle of lime juice

Day 8! I am so happy with myself, I have lasted this long to be honest. But I am so determined this time and here we are today, day 8!

I wasn’t online over the weekend, I try not to go on my laptop – I like to keep busy!
But basically I have been 100% still and I will post my food diaries (if I can remember!) down there…..

So this morning was weigh in and I have lost an amazing 9 lbs this week!! J
I must admit, it’s been hard, day 2 and day 3 – those caffine withdrawal headaches were a right bugger, but I got past them!
9 lbs loss is exactly the kick start I needed and this just motivates me even more.

I’ve been trying to think of foods that I have 100% cut out this past 8 days…

Fizzy Juice
Alcohol
Bread
Sweets (not that I ever had them anyway, sooo not a sweet person, but would have the odd chocolate now and again)
Crisps
Eating Out
Spreads (butter, margarine, mayonaise, etc)
Biscuits (again, not a biscuit person, but would have the odd one at work!)
Take Aways
The list goes on …..

Cutting out the fizzy juice has been the hardest, but I’ve managed. Aside from the one hot chocolate yesterday, all liquid that has entered my mouth for the last week has been water and Green Tea J
Zero alcohol too, which is a first for me! (Not meaning to sound like an alcoholic), but living in town, it’s so easy to nip next door to the pub for a nice glass of wine or a beer after work.
And Normally Saturday night consists of relaxing with the tv, and a bottle of wine! But my will power took over and I resisted temptation :p

I was even offered out twice for a meal but declined. I have been so good to what goes into my mouth, why spoil it for that.
I will save going out for a treat for another time J

OK… food diaries…

Friday

Breakfast in the Office
Grapes, sliced apple and 5 strawberries with 2 spoons of natural yogurt

Lunch
5 X Ryvitas with Extra Light philadelphia Spread
Weight Watchers chocolate mousse
Apple

Dinner
Weight Watchers Chicken Curry - Normally it’s a chinese takeaway with the OH but I had this! It was actually OK *lol*

Drinks
Water, water, more water, even more water
2 cups of Green Tea

Saturday

Breakfast
Small fruit pack from Asda – slices of apples with red grapes

Lunch
Bowl of Heinz Tomato Soup

Dinner
Home made Chicien Curry with Bulgar Wheat
Chopped Onion, Garlic, Ginger and fried with Fry light in a pan.
Add the chicken pieces, lots of fresh spices – Cummin, Turmeric, Corriander, Korma Powder and stir
Add some low fat Greek Yogurt and Chicken Stock and sitr more J

Drinks
Water

Sunday

Breakfast
Small fruit pack from Asda – slices of apples with red grapes

Lunch
One of those create your own salad boxes from Morrisons.
Filled my box with:
Sliced Lettuce, Red Onions, Green Peppers, 5 Cucumber Slices, Sweetcorn, Grated Carrot and honey & mustard new potatoes – they were covered in a dressing, but I took the ones with less on!

Dinner
Home made prawn & acovado salad =
Rocket leaves, chopped spring onion, watermelon pieces, 1 avocado chopped up, pack of prawns, and the juice of 1 lime

Drinks
Water water water
1 Green Tea
1 Hot Chocolate!

So there we have it, as I said before, this 9 lb loss is exactly what I need, so yeah… bring on the next 7 days! X

Day 9

Day 9 and still going strong. 9 days at 100%! :)
9 days of filling my body with delicious healthy things *lol*

Yesterday's food:

Breakfast in the office
Chopped up watermelon (small pack from ASDA)

Lunch
3 X Morrisons "Nu Me" Crispbakes (30 calories each) with extra light Philadelphia spread and sliced grapes
Weight Watchers chocolate Mousse
Sliced Apple
Handful of grapes

Dinner
Pork Chop fried in fry light with soy sauce
Bag of microwave veg from asda - carrot slices, Broccoli and Cauliflower

Drinks
Water, water & more water
2 cups of Green Tea

Water is my new best friend. I have an 18.5 litre water cooler in my office, I seem to be the only one drinking from it, and it's almost empty :D
