I love this idea of recording small goals towards a long-term result.

my first small goal is to get to Friday (first weigh day)
by sticking to it 100%..... And hopefully losing something as a result!! 4 days encounting.......

Thats a brilliant goal to aim for and im sure you will do it :) good luck Sent from my GT-I9195 using MiniMins.com mobile app

Thank you, I'm certainly gonna try xxx

Well I made it to Friday as was my aim. Phew!

I'd weighed myself 7 days ago and had lost 5lb in 3 days using packs but not doing it 100% (kept nibbling!) So not in ketosis - I was dumbfounded that I'd lost that much in just 3 days!

Anyway got on it 100% and decided my new weigh day would be today. I was really excited to see how big my loss would be now them I'm in ketosis.... And I don't know what I expected but it was (only?) 5.5lb.

I realise that it was probably unrealistic to expect more (because I'd had a big drop already), but I am a bit gutted.

My goal is such a long way away, I just want to fast forward time.

Never mind. Week two, bring it on!

My next goal is 4lbs this week. Wish me luck!

Often, you lose a lot very quickly and then it slows down somewhat as your body evens out. The sudden drop is often water weight, or maybe you caught yourself at a particularly good point during your natural daily weight fluctuation. But 5.5lb in a week is fantastic, regardless of where it came from.

Keep in mind that slower and steadier weight loss stays off for longer. Yeah, dropping a pound a day would be great, but it increases the chance of re-gaining. Just stick to a decent, healthy eating plan - something that you can foresee yourself sticking to 90% of the time for the long term - and it will come off. Some weeks will be slower than others, so maybe monitor monthly weight loss as well as weekly

I have always had big losses in my first week amd it then makes me feel awful when things calm down and I lose 1 or 2lbs. This is where I have been going wrong. I am now focusing on it day by day cause I really want to do it this time :)

this is a great thread. I am coming towards the end of day 2 now (sunday night) and I weigh in on Friday so let's hope it is ok. I have 9 stone to lose but am only thinking about the first 3.It is too early to really commit to a target weight.

I have not seen under 14 stone in nearly 15 years and I don't know what that will look like...

bless love your going to do it

Thanks everyone! I must admit that I am doing a VLCD so you do tend to expect bigger losses. My plan is to get another couple of stone off and then switch to healthy eating to slowly lose the rest.

I need to loose the recently gained excess weight ASAP because I have got new problems with my knee (it's twice the size if the other one and very painful). I'm on my feet at work all day and cannot afford sick time. Im surviving on strong pain killers. I haven't dared go to GP because I will just be told its my own fault (probably correct). But I need to shift some quick before I end up completely immobile!

Another half a stone and I will pluck up courage and squirm to the GP with a speech "I know I'm fat but I have lost 2 stone so far, now please help me!" I'm 35 and walking like I'm 85! Does not bode well for exercise either.

Eeeee how have I got myself into such a pickle?! This is why I MEAN IT THIS TIME! Good luck to everyone no matter how you're doing it xx

it is weigh in tomorrow. And the painters are in... will that impact on my loss?

I don't think so love. If you do end up with a bit of fluid on board; you should still lose weight. If it does effect your loss, it'll only be water, so you'd probably see a better loss the following week.

It doesn't seem to make a lot of difference for me.

It's my weigh day tomorrow too, I'm always nervous, fingers crossed! Good luck xxxx

PEOPLE CAN BE SO CRUEL!

I decided to go for a brisk walk yesterday to see how my knee handle it.

I had walked about a mile and came to a main road so crossed at some traffic lights. A transit van with3 men in it stopped - one leaned out of the window and called to me. When I turned around he basically made some horrible comments about my appearance.

At my age I shouldn't care, but I'm afraid as much as I know that I shouldn't care I do! When a complete stranger feels the need to wind down their window and tell you what a vile looking thing you are (and makes comments that you already thought about yourself) you can't help feeling horrendous. I was like a school kid, because I cried all the way home. No more walks in public for me! It honestly makes me not want to leave the house.

On the plus side I had lost 4.5 lbs when I weighed myself this morning. This is really good and I'm pleased. It's just unfortunate that a sad w?!*!?r in a van has zapped the little confidence I had gained back.

Oh well, I guess we cannot change the world we have to live in......

I'm loosing weight for ME. But if I shift some of this weight then at least I'll feel more confident and be subsequently more capable of rising above the negativity of others.

What horrible behaviour. I hope you don't let them shake your confidence. They are clearly just pond life, and their opinion means nothing.

Keep your chin up! Xx

Dont let him get to you hun, it obviously means he has some inadequacy of his own and had to try and prove himself to his mates by being an arsehole to someone else, bet his willy was like a walnut whip !!! blokes can be idiots when together !!

Any way, well done on what you have done so far hun, you are doing brilliant, carry on doing what your doing and it wont be long before they lean out and wolf whistle you as you go by...!

Thanks Sarah, I think the term "pond life" is a very appropriate. I can't say that it hasn't dinted my confidence; but to be fair it was pretty non existant anyway!

thank you for your support; it wasn't something I fancied sharing with my friends so it was nice to vent it on here xxxx

Hi there;
Firstly I must thank you for the walnut whip comment; it did literally make me LOL! :8855:And also thank you for your positive words.

i must say that they can keep their wolf whistles though. Regardless of how much weight I lose, I'd rather snog a farm animal than go anywhere near someone like that :9529:

thank you again for making me chuckle x

Ohhhhh  Any particular farm animal that your fond of snogging lol ?

LOL! Not yet. But if every man on the planet was like the vermin in that van; I might be driven to it :giggle:
