I've seen alot mentioned about BMR so I looked into it tonight.
This website - BMR Calculator - says 2426.4 which the http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-ca...dict-equation/ Harris Benedict Equation then makes into 2911.68 and MFP says 2070. Does anyone pay attention to these? I'm coming quite a bit below both personally, but then I'm not a big eater full stop, I just like the wrong things!
31/3 1609, 1/4 2000, 2/4 1261, 3/4 1356, 4/4 1420, 5/4 1782, 6/4 1469,
7/4 1500, 8/4 1484 and 9/4 1269.
I'm not getting hungry (I did a bit at the start, however I've adjusted a bit) and I average say... 1500 calories a day looking at the figures? Almost half what I should apparently be eating to maintain according to the BMR x HBE?
I started the slimfast diet in the first place because I wanted to lose weight but I wasn't eating proper meals and wanted to ensure I had meals going in during the day to enable me to not reach for unhealthy things for quick fixes (and to stop me comfort eating after visiting the grandfather and being screamed at constantly and told how horrible I am for 2 hours straight)

BMR / TDEE - oh can get so complicated!
Google IIFYM calculator - I think that is the best of the one's I've come across so far. It goes into further detail on macros (fat, protein, carbs) and what the recommended breakdown is based on your goals.
I dont pay attention to the numbers now as the plan I am on doesn't require any counting (as long as I am eating allowed foods).
But in two weeks time I will be paying a lot more attention to these numbers, as I plan on seriously upping my strength training and hoping to change the way my body looks
IMO, 1500 sounds about right and you may even be able to go slightly higher in the beginning of your journey, then keep dropping the number as you lose a chunk of weight.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather - its very difficult when family turns on you... good on you for sticking to plan!

1500 for someone of your size is WAY too low. You run the risk of damaging your metabolism which will essentially stall your weight loss and make it really hard to lose weight later down the line. You need to lose weight eating the most amount of calories you possibly can to avoid doing damage.
I ran your figures (didn't know how old you are, so used 30) and your BMR comes out at 2416 - remembering that your BMR is the number of calories you need per day for your body to do basic functions that keep you alive.
If you run the figures with 3x per week exercise it comes out at 3322 (ran at this number because very few people are actually sedentary!).
So the figure I recommend you aim for right now is 2450, giving you almost a 1000 cal deficit per day which is a 2lb per week weight loss.
You don't want to go lower than that, because then you're in the territory of metabolic damage and massive muscle loss - neither of which you want.

It took me ages to get my head around the figures to use and when to use them!!
You're doing awesome with losing right now, I would just say try and eat more now, so you can eat more later - if that makes sense?

I agree with Stackhead, you'd be much better eating at a higher level, closer to your BMR, and then reducing slowly as you lose weight. 1,500 is too low for the stage you're at, and you want to give yourself the best chance possible. Good luck! xx

Not too bad ta, have massively increased my water consumption as I really wasn't drinking enough liquid other than tea. Must have had about 20 glasses worth (use a sports shake bottle so have it by me at all times) I did have a naughty look on the scales this morning and I'm not happy with what I saw on the scales (it's still a loss but a tiny one. Must get out of my head that it needs to be big!) but I know the sudden influx of water has had a hand with that too. Not going to stop though as it's cleared the backlog of uh... bathroom issue... that I had and is noticably helping me with the hunger issue too!

I am good. Finishing work in half an hour then going shopping.
A loss is a loss hon. Its hard when its a teensy one but imagine how you would feel if it was a teensy gain.
A lot worse!
I try to remind myself of that when I am disappointed with a loss.
