Lose skin

Hi all. Few days ago I saw a lady in gym after shower. She had lost a lot of weight by the looks of it and you can tell how proud she was. I would be too. But and its big but - lose skin. Is not so good looking.
After this I have search and search in internet. Looking photos and just basicly freeking out. I have 14 stones to lose. How could I ever think or hope that there wont be lose skin.
Im even thinking about tummy tuck but then I think the scar is ugly and Im scared of going under knife.
Basicly - as you may get it, Im panicing.

How do you manage to keep yourself on track and maybe its not even a problem for you. I know its better to have lose skin then 14 stone overweight, but , but , but

Anyone could pleas tell me how should I calm down or maybe anyone knows anyone who lost a lot and didnt have lise skin or that skin pulls back in year or two ?

Thank you

i know someone who lost 12 stone no lose skin walked and dieted slowly went back on its own
they was on of the luck ones x x x

If it helps, my nephews wife lost 6 maybe 7 or 8 stone. Unrecognisable. Looked amazing and no slack visible in a tight sleeveless dress, not even bingo wings! She exercised right the way down and is now a consultant with SW.

I think some loose skin is inevitable however, taking weight loss slowly is the key. I have a couple of friends who have done 'fast weight loss' regimes including one with a gastric bypass, and the loose skin is bad. Another friend did a very expensive low cal regime called Alizonne where they ultrasounded (or something like that) her skin and she hasn't got loose skin (her weight is going up now though, so as tempting as it is to do this, I'm going for the long haul, permanent solution).

Absolutely what Kayjay said - the best thing is to lose slowly. Accept that 2-3 years is what it'll take to lose it healthily, and you'll give your skin the best chance possible. At the end of the day it's all down to your skin type and genetics, so it can sometimes be inevitable whatever you do, and everyone will get some, but at the end of the day you need to see it as a badge of honour, and it IS much better than being morbidly obese! My own weight loss is currently at over 10.5 stone, and yes I do have loose skin, but I've seen much, much worse! Obviously I can never wear shorts or mini skirts, or short sleeved tops, or a bikini, because, basically it would look hideous, lol. But with clothes you can't tell - it doesn't hang down, or wobble, it's just loose and wrinkly, and I have to fold my boobs into my bra. :D But I wouldn't swap it for the 150lbs I've lost, no way, because it's not going to kill me, whereas the weight would have done. :) xx

I wish life would be video- game. That I could start again ...

Thank you , I know I overthink it right now and in one year it will not seem so scary anymore. xx

I think I started off expecting the worst in terms of loose skin, so the reality isn't nearly as bad. As long as you have realistic expectations, you shouldn't be disappointed. Age can play a part too - I'm in my 50s, so my skin is bound to be less elastic, but I've also spent most of my life avoiding the sun like the plague, so it's pretty good in that respect, lol. :) xx

Very good point lovely :)

It's scary to think just how much we lose weighs. My biggest dog weighs 2 and a half stone - and is heavy! I can't get my head around the fact that I've lost a bit more than that - but I don't 'feel' like I'm lighter in that respect (does that make sense?) so our poor skin!

Sending stretchy bouncing back vibes to everyone ;)

What a lovely way of putting it - I agree 100%! Some gentle (or hard) exercise along the way, especially toning exercises, and it will definitely improve things.

I read about a woman who used cans of beans to do arm rolls, and it worked - no bingo wings :)

I also want to get to a weight where I still have some fat on my face as I'm 46 now, and I see friends who lose weight and age 10 years because they get too skinny and at our age it does show in your face. But I think my target will still make me look curvy, the last time I was that weight I was a size 16 (but toned). I'm past caring what my body looks like if I'm honest, I'm doing this for health reasons. Although I fell off the healthy eating for the past two days :( I always do this, lose a bit of weight then congratulate myself with eating everything in sight  But back on today.

For me its different , I'll be 34 this year and I never ever was in shape. I remember when I was 20 I joined ww and lost 18 kg ( 39 pound) and then it got so hard I could not stay on plan and I changed job. At new job food and drink was free and in 1 -2 year i manage to put on 80kg (176 pounds ). I did try to lose weight and i did 10-15 kg and then I got all it back again . My body dodnt like me at 135 kg , so I make sure I wont stay at that weight, it was easy to be over that.
For the first time in my life I feel I can do it - this time, with sw . And im Absolutely terrified - I dont even know what is my target weight. I have no idea how will i look when I lost this weight. And looking at pic in internet not helping. I have read all there is about how not to have lose skin - i try to do what they say- but I dont have hope..... I wish I had , but I dont

I know everything will be fine, I know its better to have lose skin then being so heavy as i am , I know i can get tummy tuck later ( even know where i can get gold for it ) , my Hubby is so supportive- we been together for 14 years, only when we started dating i was under 100 kg, he loves me how i am , even if i will be with lose skin . I love me how I am - i think I look beautiful and I love my curves and I have no idea why im so scared of lose skin . I dont know , but Im so scared. I should not be, but I am

Don't be scared hun - you will look beautiful! Also, loose skin can shrink back over time - but just keep doing as much toning exercises as you can and that will help too.

And slap on lots of oil to keep your skin in good nick :D

:D oil sounds good.

Can I recommend Avocado oil. Most easily absorbed and makes skin so silky without looking like a chip! Had to get mine from Waitrose as my Tesco stopped doing it.

That's good to know about the avocado oil. Thank you xx

It's perfectly normal to worry about lose skin I know I did. Like Tracey says slow weight loss helps and exercise to help tone.
