140lb to lose

Hello,

I have been using minimins for a while & finding the support so helpful. I have been overweight my whole life at my heaviest I was 22st 5lb at my last weigh in I was 21st 6lb. So I have lost 13lb & I have around 140lb to lose. I have been struggling but I read something today that hit home so much I am now so determined.

"She wasn't where she had been. She wasn't where she was going...but she was on her way. And on her way she enjoyed food that wasn't fast, friendships that held, hearts glowing, hearts breaking, smiles that caught tears, paths trudged and alleys skipped. And on her way she no longer looked for the answers, but held close the two things she knew for sure. One, if a day carried strength in the morning, peace in the evening, and a little joy in between, it was a good one...and two, you can live completely without complete understanding." ~ Jodi Hills

I wanted to start this thread to keep myself motivated & to get to know people I don't have a lot of support where family is concerned but that's ok I find it in other places. I am calorie counting & using orlistat that's been prescribed by my doctor. I currently have high blood pressure & shouldn't be exercising at all but I do go for a walk maybe once a week it's a start. I have been of work for 3 months & will be off for another 4 weeks due to being unable to get my blood pressure under control. Any hints & tips to keep me busy I would love. Any tips on snacks or lunches would also be great as I really struggle with spicing it up.

Thanks to everyone for keeping me strong as I would've gave up by now .

Glad you're still gently getting out and about lovely, all it needs to be is little and often - it's a complete mood changer I find usually too :)

My goodness roziee that's amazing well done you. 140lb feels like a lot but I'm breaking it down to 7lb chunks & I'll get there. Such an inspiration thank you x

WEE UPDATE: yesterday I went for a walk I walked around a mile in 19mins I struggled bad yesterday with breathing can be a symptom of high blood pressure but let's be honest it's due to how unfit I am. I never exercise EVER I work in a call centre I spend 9 hours a day on my bum. So no wonder I get breathless I did it though getting really proud of myself for these walks. I felt yesterday I cheated with eating although I know I didn't as I never went over my calories but I did have a few haribos with the kids (niece & nephew ) & a packed of crisps everything was logged on my fitness pal (kers_pink) but as it wasn't a healthy/low fat option I'm feeling a bit guilty any one else feel like this? Or should I be banning these kind of foods altogether? . Yesterday I couldn't resist getting weighed my official weigh in is Saturday but I was cheeky I weighed myself & I'm happy won't update until official results on Saturday or I will end up confusing myself lol anyway hope you all have a lovely day. Going to the park & having a picnic with the kids looking forward to it x

I used to work in a call centre so I know that feeling of sitting on your bottom all day.

The walking will become easier. Please keep at the exercising. I really wish I had introduced exercised at an earlier stage. Probably would have been at target by now if I had lol

As long as you remained in calories lovely - don't worry! :) That is the main thing really.

You've GOT to have some treats or you just won't keep up with it. There's always room for the odd naughty thing - just allow calories for it :)

Oh roziee it's so bad I've put on a lot of weight because I'm not as active. I will keep trying with the walking I'm to embarrassed not to as in I get out of breath at small walks from the bus stop to walking up 1 flight of stairs. I don't want to be like this I want to be able to be fitter healthier so not giving up. When I get back to work I'm going to walk home but if I keep at it now it won't be as bad x

I promise you it will get easier. Even if it's 10 mins every day do it. I know EXACTLY how you feel and believe me, once the weight starts dropping your ability to do physical activities will increase.

I promise you.

Well done on the walking hun.

Hope you had a nice day with the little ones you are babysitting for.

It really will. When my dad passed away, I surpressed all my grief and ate badly, didn't look after myself and i barely moved. When I did it was taxi's to and from places for like 2 years - basically grocery shop or job center. I didn't walk anywhere - and then when it came to having to (when I had to get a job 2 years on) I couldn't walk the (just over) half mile there and back - all of an 11 minute walk so I still had to continue with taxi's there and back which didn't help either and it's bloody expensive going everywhere with taxi's too.

All sorted now - but it took a lot of trying to get mobile and moving as much as I could as often as I could - and never letting it happen. I couldn't have even moved if there'd been a fire, so much pain and breathlessness. Never want to go back to that ever again.

You can do it, hun. The key is little and often - and moving a bit further when you sensibly feel you can - say one block for a week. then 2 blocks after a week/10 days and so on and so forth. If you can do to the end of the road and back twice a day even better. You can do it. You have to do it for your health lovely - it's a way of getting better. No marathons or pushing yourself - just what you can manage. Even standng on your front for 10, 15 mins and getting a breath of fresh air without walking for a few days if you have to - it all counts and it's great for your mood too.

pink your doing great x x x
