Half of Me

Yikes!
Sounds crazy - the idea that I'm aiming to shed half myself - I'm not planning on "losing" the weight - I need to get rid of it and not find it again :)
I'm not a restarter but a finally-getting-started.
I have an official start weight of 21st 4.5lbs (I know I actually went up to 22st 10lbs at one point) and a first week weigh - in of 7.5lbs down - which not only takes me under 21st but also gives me my 1/2 stone SW award at the same time :)

About 1.5-2 years ago I did drop to about 19st 9lbs but it crept back on.

I can't give up - I'm 36 and after 10 years TTC (I only have 1 fallopian tube and that may not be functional but tests were "inconclusive") it appears IVF maybe my only option and I have to get my BMI under 28 - and I'm getting "old" as far as fertility goes
Then again - who knows - shedding the weight may just help mother nature along ;) which would be awesome.

That target of under 28 BMI equates to 50% of my start weight.

Hi Kia and welcome :)

Do you know which eating plan you are going to do? We cover all the bases here - SW, WW, calorie counting, slimfast, etc - so there's always someone here to help :).

Good luck on your journey! Sx

Good luck on your journey. It is achievable with determination.
I started out with 12 st 6lbs to lose, and I've only got 7st 13lbs to go. I'm not half way, but I'm on the way.

Hi Kia

Welcome!

You are off to a great start, I know it seems daunting realising you have half of your body weight to lose.

I didn't have quite half to lose (but not far off) but a 8 months down and six stone gone I'm beginning to believe it IS possible.

Another of the wemitters Tracy (not me) has lost over half of her body weight and more importantly she has kept it off.

You will get lots of support and information here

Good luck Kia

Tracy x

Welcome! :)

I know looking at losing half your body weight can seem scary! Have you set any mini-goals? Those are what REALLY keep me motivated. It's much easier to aim for half a stone again and again, rather than inching along and aiming for that number that is a year+ away. We have monthly WeMITTs challenge threads, where we set a goal for ourselves each month, as well as a longer 2015 challenge.

Good luck with your weight loss, and with TTC. :)

Thank you.
Yes :) I've got about a bazillion mini goals from each 7lb - each 10% - "that" pair of jeans and so on.

Hi Kia I've been a little bit of a lurker on here and have found it really motivating to read everyone's journeys into skinny minnieness. I have about the same amount to lose I'm currently 20st1lb. I just wanted to say congratulations on your decision to lose weight and on your first week. And I wanted to wish you good luck on TTC.

x

Hi Kia,
Half of you sounds a lot but I'm sure is achievable. Just hold on to the better half of you! Are you doing Slimming World?
Kx

Yes, I'm doing SW. And so is my hubby - we're quite competitive (in a good way) so that increases the motivation :)

Nice wish I could say the same for mine.. he is very supportive though so no complaints! Good luck to you both.

good luck on your jorney love little goals and you will a achieve it x x

Hi, hon! Welcome and good luck. Sorry I haven't welcomed you sooner - been having one of those weeks! I think Another Tracy kindly mentioned me further up the thread - I started out at almost exactly your weight (I was 21.5 stone) a few years back, hoping to lose around 10 stone. I've managed to plod my way to a loss of 11st 9lbs to date and am currently maintaining (badly, because my weight still creeps down a bit!). It can definitely be done - this forum is fantastic for support and motivation, it's helped so much. I'm a calorie counter, by the way. :) xx

Thank you.
I've got a lovely SW consultant and hubby is doing SW too which means I've got someone to share my "diet" food with (amazed at the lovely meals we've been able to have) and we're also quite competitive ;) so increased motivation. The accountability of being in a group is really motivating - I'm making different choices because I want to succeed and I can't just palm it off for another week (which becomes another and another...)
I'm on track to pick up my 1 stone award at week 4 - I don't think I'll do it at this (3) weigh in but not impossible.

Welcome and good luck. I too have lot to lose. Im half way there. Thanks to SW and everyone in mimis.
If you need support this is the place to come. Best of luck on your journey.

Hey Kia :) Good luck on your weight loss and TTC journey. I did SW in 2012, it's amazing, I lost 5 1/2 stone on it. Moving away and getting married soon made the weight creep back on for me, but I am starting again as me and my hubby want to TTC. It's scary when you think about how much weight you need to lose overall, taking it one step at a time and you will get there. xx

Well, I'd been hoping to average 3.5lbs off per week but the last 2 weigh ins have each been 2lb off...
But that's 2 off!
This week I'd been baking for a friend's daughter's wedding. I also didn't get in as much speed foods as I should have and so I convinced myself that I had a gain this week.
Then I did what I do - I sabotaged myself and had a big fat jacket spud with beans for a late lunch (yep just 3 hours before my weigh in). Then I'd be able to blame my gain on that right...
I still lost 2lbs - that 2 feels as good as losing 20 today.

Really really have to plan for this coming week's meals now. If I can succeed through self sabotage then I can do this.

Had a maintain this week - better than a gain though ;)
I started swimming yesterday morning and surprised myself - planned on 10 (25m) lengths and did 30. Another 24 this morning. Hubby's buying me a swim membership and I've joined the SW body magic challenge to swim the channel :D only another 33 point something km to go lol
Hopefully this will boost my losses and tone those inches too.
