New to low carb...not new to dieting.

Hi:)
Just a wee shout out to anyone who is on, or has experience of a low carb diet - looking to swap ideas /recipes/inspiration.
I'm a 41 year old female , weight is currently 17 st 7 lbs I'm 5ft 7''. I have a large family ( hubby and 6 kids) and run my own business - I have battled with my weight all of my adult life - I started the Lipotrim diet several years ago and my weight plummeted down to 11stone 10lb - however it isn't sustainable and put on all the weight...plus more.

I liked being thinner , I felt better....more attractive and moving round was easier!! I'm drawn to the Low Carb diet as I enjoy meats, cheeses fresh fruit and veg! I love big portions and hate feeling hungry.....I'm hoping this is a sustainable lifestyle change.
 
Hi Emma - I'm 38 and have always struggled with my weight, I have 3 kids and a very busy working life and enjoy socialising - which usually involves eating out !
I have tried most diets and failed miserably, tried Cambridge plan but couldn't bear the taste of the shakes or soups - more wanted money. I've done slimming world on and off for years but get bored easily. Joined again a few weeks ago but am already bored with it ! So have decided to try and cut out carbs - only been doing it a week but seems ok so far - still going to weigh in a SW to keep me motivated to carry on. If I don't actually go and get weighed somewhere I fall off the wagon ! how are you finding it ? Will get weighed Thursday and post again with results of my no carb week
 
Forgot to say, I'm not a big breakfast eater but I've been having a smoothie made up of banana, unsweetened almond milk and either a bit of honey or organic peanut butter all chucked in the blender. For lunch I'll usually have an onlette of chicken in basil with salad, prawn salad, or cucumber cut down the middle, seeds scraped out, and filled with tuna and a bit of Mayo. For dinner I'll have a steak and veg or salmon or cod fillet. Snacking on nuts and boiled eggs and fruit.

Hi everyone can I join in with you all, ive switched over from a vlcd diet that I followed for 4 weeks to a low carb high fat diet.

Initially I gained a few pounds switching over but I have since lost this gained as well as another 3lbs so im on the right road with my food choices.

I started my weight loss journey in January weighing 16 stone 1lbs and today I weigh 14stone 11lbs, so still a long way to go but its working.
