My Mood: Rep Power: 29 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi cambridge 08, I am so trying to cope with this life long challenge of learning to maintain, it is so hard, I know I have recognised before it got out of hand again about being 12lbs over my goal weight, and I know I can always do a vlcd again, but I dont want this vicious cirlce, I want my body to be happy and maintain between 9st and 9st 5lbs max, I did for 6 months, but slowly it has gained. I also know that if I made more of an effort to exercise it would be easier. I'm on day 4 now and still the wee stick is showing no signs of being in ketosis, but there again it never did when I did LL, I'm frightened to weigh myself in case there is no loss, I am determined to wait until Monday morning. I'm also being better as from yesterday drinking at least 2 litres of water, but I do struggle with it. I'm ery apprehensive at the moment. Oh woe is me! sue xx |

I think you may be pleasantly surprised if you weighed yourself today .... why not do it tomorrow morning it may be just what you need to keep going and lose the feeling of apprehension. Good on you for drinking more water. Keep that up

My Mood: Rep Power: 16 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | sun, well done you for getting on top of your gain before it turns to stones! i have never been good at maintaining, losing the weight is always the easy part for me. then it creeps back on plus more. i managed to diet down to 9,7 back in 2004 and since then it has been going up and up. if only i had done something about it after 12lbs gain. i envy you for having the strength to do something about it. think its a lesson i need to learn... and quickly! good luck with the weigh in, we will all be waiting with baited breath to see how it goes. we are all in the early days so its nice to share our experiences. oh and i am the worst for water!!!! yesterday i decided to see if my plateau was because of the lack of water i drink... and guess what? i lost 1.5lbs overnight. so today i am def drinking 3l again! xxx

My Mood: Rep Power: 29 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | good morning low carbers! Well I really enjoyed last night at the pub, I was going to play it safe and just have a steak and salad, but I orderded a lamb shank, cant believe how much meat there are on them, I was stuffed and a friend finished it off, I nibbled at some cauliflower and broccoli florets which were beautifully al dente! I also had 1 dry white wine and soda which lasted me all evening! So I feel guilt free this morning. Feeling a tad bit more relaxed today, and promised myself to drink water! sue x |

My Mood: Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() | Glad you had a lovely time at the pub. It is so nice not to panic when we are invited out. On CD I had to make excuses and just didn't bother going out as couldn't be arsed to explain myself |

My Mood: Rep Power: 29 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hi aly, when I did LL, friends poo pooed my abstinence, I was so into it first time, I think we all are! you are so focused, I used to take my swiss bouillon stock to the pub and ask for some boiling water to make a soup and always asked for a bowl, then I had a bar, a pint of soda water with the LL st clements flavouring, I was sorted! It wasnt hard watching everybody eating food until I was almost at goal, then I wasnt satisfied, my tum used to grumble like mad, my LLC used to say it was because my body realised it was at a healthy bmi and it was then time to start maintenance. Friends then still used to moan by telling me how gaunt I looked! c'est la vie! here's onwards and downwards for us all sue xx |

My Mood: Rep Power: 69 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Diet: Reached Target...yipppeee. | Well done hun. I lost 4lbs this week. I'm getting weighed at my mums once a week now. Last Friday 11st 12, this week 11st 8lbs....half the time I did CD, so I've put the loss down as CD loss, but most of this week I've been doing Atkins. I must admit at 11 stone, people say I'm very slim, so I think another 8lbs will do it for me now. What are we like. When I first set out I wanted to be 11st 10, but we are never satisfied are we!!

My Mood: Rep Power: 29 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I know just how you feel shaz, when I finished LL my goal was 8.10, I got to 8.12 I loved it, but I know I had become very very gaunt in the face, nobody but nobody was happy about me being that weight, my OH and my daughters, BUT I WAS!, but alas I maintained it for about 6 months, then my 5 week holiday was the start of the downhill slippery slope, I put on 6lbs, then when I got back, I didnt take stock straight away and slowly another 6lb went on. I have had to understand that because of my Insulin resistance the future will see my eating high protein and low carb diet always, I have proved to myself by allowing eating bread, pasta, cereals, wheat, potatoes and of course chocolate any weight gain immediately settles around my abdomen, basically lays to fat around my major organs. Now that is not to say that once I get to 9st again, I wont be able to have those above in very very special occasions, its about the learning curve, that this diet regime is for life for me medically. oh gosh, sorry for the essay. sue xx |

I am nearing the end of my second week on Atkins. Don't weigh again until Tuesday though ... fingers crossed I've at least lost a pound and then I lose something like the amount you two have the following week
