Come on British Women lets move down this list.

British women are officially the most overweight in Europe.
A quarter are obese – so fat it threatens their health – according to alarming figures.
This is a far higher proportion than in the other countries of Western Europe.

“One you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results” – Willie Nelson.

    ignorance is bliss
    March 2011 = 11 stone.
    May 2011 = 10st 4lb.
    July 2011 = 10st 5lb.
    Sept 2011 = 9st 13lb.
    Dec 2011 = 9st 11lb
    Feb 2012 =
    9st 10 1/4lb
    March 2012= 9st 9lb
    April 2012= 9st 7.5lb
May 2012 Here there and everywhere so no weighing.A month off. Been naughty weighed once.

Interesting statistics. I live in Cyprus now and when I return to the UK I am suprised at the temptation offered in the supermarkets. The fruit and veg is dear and the chocs/junk food are cheap. It is the other way around over here. I lost weight when I arrived due to the fact chocolate is expensive. However, the expat community introduced UK shops with goodies much cheaper. So the temptation crept back in, and because I am not longer in an active job I gained again. Hence the weight loss plan. I wonder if the UK were to make the fresh foods slightly more affordable and the treats more expensive whether that would help. It was like that when I was younger, we only had treats now and then. I am 54 not ancient by any means, but the shops certainly have filled up with unhealthy, affordable goodies over the years.

I might be short but at least I am taller than my dogs!

Week 2 = stayed the same (Big loss first week, so not surprised)

Disaster! Faulty scales! (True). Gained 6lb and been 100% good. Checked on wii scales and they show a different weight. Going to use them from now on. At least I still lost a good amount to start. Phew!

1lb loss and a belt for my trousers! After the scales disaster this is the positive I needed. 13lb loss in total

    2lb loss! 1st 1lb gone in total!
Another 2lb loss! 1st 3lb gone! And I came out of the obese bracket and into the overweight!

1lb gain My first since starting. Extra points don't like me at the moment.
Lost the 1lb! Kicked out obese again!
    (Started using weights with Zumba)

1lb off Still enjoying zumba and weights. Added walking into the exercise programme now.
Another 2lb off. Not using weeklies is really helping. Exercise is going well.
Another 1lb off Zumba and weights going well.
Another 1lb off A clothes size smaller...things are on the move again!

I agree with Nissi! You go in a supermarket- 3 for 2, bogof deals, money off- all seem to be on the fatty stuff like sweets and biscuits. Fruit and veg is so expensive in comparison! I know when I struggle financially my diet struggles to, as I live alone everything I buy I eat myself so what good is spending a lot on something that will go out of date soon? So I spend the same money on something like choc or cereal which will last longer than broccoli!

I lived in central Paris for a year and it is rare to see bigger people there.

I've no idea, probably one of those Mori polls. Otherwise it could be the medical proffession & they can't give that info out without permission.
