Petition To cut Vat On fruit Juices & Smoothies

ASDA are running a campaign to cut VAT on fruit juices and smoothies. Juices and smoothies are currently the only fruit products to carry any VAT, they see this as an unfair tax, especially when unhealthy foods like pizzas and chips, and milkshakes, have no VAT.

ASDA believe that a reduction in VAT would encourage more people to consume their five portions of fruit and veg a day.

ASDA are asking for your support in their campaign and would like you to sign their petition.

As they believe that a reduction in VAT would encourage more people to consume their five portions of fruit and veg a day.

The petition, launched by ASDA CEO Andy Bond, can be found here. Petition to: Cut VAT on 100% fruit juices and smoothies to the minimum 5% allowed by EU law to encourage shoppers to take the healthier option and achieve their ‘five a day’.

I have added a poll to see do you think that if vat is reduced on fruit juices and smoothies that this will encourage you to have your five a day.

I agree that there shouldn't be VAT on fruit and veg.
Failure doesn't happen until you give up trying!
