Very true. I remember an experiment they did on the Beeb with this.

And of course, stress can increase appetite and cause raised levels of cortisol. This cortisol often leads to fat being put on the abdomen rather than the hips, which is unhealthier.
 
Next time you go shopping with your little ones, don't give in to their every demand!! You may end up with a lot more than you bargained for.. including way too many snacks in the cupboard that will probably end up in your own tummy.
