Last week i cleaned out my shoe closet. My 15yrs old musty leather boots went straight into the garbage bag

I think if they're already musty, it's very possible they're harboring mold. For me, those old leather boots were unsanitary, gross stuff which should be burned in the local garbage incinerator.

Awww, come on Chrissy, you have thrown away these boots at least 20 times on various other forums

I know I have favourite old clothes that have sentimental reasons for me as to why I don't throw them out.

If you can't bring yourself to part with them perhaps you could store them away somewhere in the attic?

Poor boots i can tell you love them really.
Mould is good & clean & healthy. It is also high in protein & carbfree.
so when you've licked them clean,give em a polish & lovingly award them pride of place in the front of your wardrobe.
