    Smear test

Back in 2008 I had an abnormal smear resilt. I had a colposcopy and trratment, my next smear test was normal. I am supposed to be on yearly tests now but missed one out. I had one last week and am waiting for the results.

My question is if it comes back as abnormal this time will I have to wait 6 months and have a retest or go straight for a colposcopy?

    Thanks

Not sure, my friend had to wait 6 months for her retest but she didn't have colposcopy until after the 2nd abnormal result. Not sure if thats any help I think it might be different for different NHS Trusts.

I didn't know that if you'd had treatment before whether they sort of rush you through.

I don't know, try ringing your surgery and ask to talk to the practice nurse, she'll be able to tell you what happens in your area.

    I didn't think of that.

I should probably stop worrying and wait for the results to come back first! Hopefully it'll be normal.
