My Mood: Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() | Do they REALLY work? Yep I have been using mine for a couple of years and the hairs are patchier, finer, softer and paler. Do you use one at home yourself? Yep How often do you use it? All the time! As soon as the hair starts coming through. At least once a week (but I'm hairy and do all over). Would you consider yourself of low medium or high hair quantity? That would have to be HIGH! DOES IT HURT? I can honestly say I don't find it painful at all (but I have been doing it years so maybe my senses are dead!). I have one with an ice pack but I never use it. It is time consuming if you are hairy. I do pretty much everywhere there is hair including bikini. My biggest advice is not to let the hair grow too long before you do it. I have even recommended them to friends. I know a guy who does his chest with it and one of my best friends is excessively hairy and does toes, feet, arms and armpits, bikini, legs, you name it she removes it! Buy one for sure. Wait until there is a sale on if you don't want to spend too much money. Or have a look on eBay.

Monday to Friday I'm working for myself from home but from 10pm Friday until 8am Monday I work in an office - 12 hour shifts. Just got home and going to have a hot bath and a couple of hours sleep. Then I'm getting up to have my second massage in a week (my neck and shoulders are in agony). Then I'll be catching up on things around here and on minimins. ........ it might take me some time to work up to actually buying one but I will definitely post on here how I find the experience

My mum always said it was like tweezing out each and every hair and she'd never do it again, but tbh I've done that if i've missed a bit and dont find it painful. My friends also had one last year and they both recommended it, one was from Israel and very dark haired, wouldnt strip in front of her BF without having used it and she loves it. One of them had one with an ice pack (came in handy for my sprained ankle) which she used to numb the skin first but she rarely needed it x

My Mood: Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() | Hi Dancing I would recommend Philips or Braun. Mine is a Philips Satin Ice but I never use the ice pack. The ice pack is a good feature if you are sensitive to pain as it numbs the skin. I know Philips usually have changeable heads too which can be good. Mine has an exfoliator head which is fab. I use it all the time and don't get many ingrown hairs. My friends one doesn't have the exfoliator, it has a shaver head. She doesn't really exfoliate and does get a lot more ingrowers. Mine is quite old now but I was looking at new ones recently and there are some good ones on the market. There are ones that massage you at the same time to relax the skin. There are also ones that come with large heads and smaller heads which are good for the bikini line. If I were you I would decide what hairs you are wanting to remove and what functions you think will be best based on that. Some now you can use on your face as well as body. Look on places like amazon as they usually have a big range and tell you quite a lot about each product. Hope that helps BL x

It wasnt painful cos it was one with Ice packs attached - but i was left with massive lumps on my legs - BLOODY SEXY! I have been using bleaching cream to fade the scars, but never again will i use an epilator. My dad was arab so my hair is pretty dark and thick (hence the curls).... Grrr, hate epilators.

My Mood: Blog Entries: 8 Rep Power: 2 ![]() Diet: have been on them all! | I've had one for years and always do my legs and underarms with it. I do my bikini line in the summer though and it's not too painful (but then am not especially hairy....sorry if tmi!!) I definitely agree that the hair comes through finer, and eventually gives up! like another poster suggested, see if you can't find a cheapo one and see how you get on. xxxx

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I've been using epilators for years on legs only - I reckon it would be agony anywhere else! It hurts to use them initially, but after the third or fourth time the pain lessens a lot - I've also got much thinner and sparser hair on my legs now than I used to, and would consider myself moderately to very hirstute! I need to epilate about once a fortnight to stay completely hair free, but if I'm not showing my legs to anyone special I usually only do it once a month. I'd recommend a silk epil xelle - I've just upgraded to this after having the same old epilator for years. It's got twice the number of tweezers as most other epilators, so it's *much* quicker to use. |
