:confused:So does anyone know what this oily Orangey discharge is and is there a cure for it as i havent had a dump for a good days and yes ive been sticking to the 5% or less fat rule.

has anyone else had this problem?

oh and i only have skimmed milk or lactose free skimmed milk.

you must have eaten something with too much fat content hun .

are you sticking to foods from the 5g per 100g range and only eating 15g per meal ???

have a look at the stickies at the beginning of the posts and it might explain what has caused your problems.

good luck hun - once you get used to the diet you will do great :D

Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt lol.

Like Mrs A says you must have eaten something high in fat. Also drink at least 2 litres of water a day which will help stop constipation.

Its just a side effect, you may have fat still in your system since you havent went to the toilet in a few days.
unfortunately the only cure is not to eat anything too fatty! :sigh: Good news is... its a good sign that the tablets are working!!:D

Hi hun, watch your fat hun, however oily poo is a common sideffect of Xenical...with some people you can stick to the rules and you still get a loose, slightly oily poo.

Because the Xenical works by blocking the absorption of fat, it is likely that you will experience some changes in bowel habits. These bowel changes are a natural effect of blocking the fat from being absorbed. They generally occur during the first weeks of treatment; however, for some people they may continue for 6 months or longer. changes may include gas with oily discharge, an increased number of bowel movements, an urgent need to have them, and an inability to control them, particularly after meals containing higher amounts of fat than are recommended.

Do you have a food diary hun?..maybe you should start something up here hun and we can help :)

yeah I am sticking to that and the meals I am having don't really exceed more than 4% fat and am only having white meat and sea food from butchers and my local fish monger's

I spoke to someone and they feel it could have something to do with the sea food, as it has natural oils.... hmm

Fish like salmon, tuna, herring, fresh mackerel ( and smoked too) are all high in Omega 3 and 6, which are heart healthy oils, unfortunately Xenical makes no distinction between these and other fats, to Xenical fat is fat. You should be ok with white fish ( like cod, haddock, whiting, lemon sole etc)

Oh I know about the water thing i learnt from when i did tfr lipotrim last yr which i had to be taken off from due to my meds being changed to 1200mg of naproxen (blasted arthritis). And have continued with the water intak (2-3ltr) a day. I've also started drinking 50ml of prune juice as i was told by a relative (medic) who said that if i drink that after every meal including replacement shake, my body will after a day or two started dumping out a lot easier... I hope this works as I'm really not too keen on it's taste nor texture:eek:

i bought trout fillets the other day thinking they would be lovely for my dinner. :D
got home ,read the label and it said 13g fat per trout fillet
in the freezer to give to my daughter next time she visits

i tend to use a lot of those packs of savoury rice and pasta sauces to bulk out my dinners with lots of veg and a chicken breast or a baked potato.
uncle ben's s/sour sauce is very low fat if you fancy that sort of thing.

start a diary hun and some of the girls who have been here a while will soon sort you out;)

Yes you do have to watch the fish, fish is dodgy, i think salmon most have a lot of problem with...there's a lot of goodness in fish and the xenical takes that away, which is why we should take a multivit...are you taking one?..I cant rememeber if you said you did or not...

I'm sure things will settle down after a few weeks :)

I take naproxen on and off too. I find it makes me very thirsty anyway so drink a lot of water by default.

Trout is and always has been very rich in oils/ fats. But try going to your local fishmonger's and explain to them your specific dietary needs, even if it means you explaining to them what your on and trust me they will tell you what you should have, could have once in a fortnight, and what to steer clear of all together (my butchers and fishmongers both know what I'm doing and have been a great support plus i find it works out a heck of a lot cheaper going to them rather than the supermarker and plus i know its extra fresh and they prep it to how i want it for cooking/ steaming/ roasting/ grilling).
I'm much more of a raw cook at home as i like to know whats what in my meals aswell as for the family. Kolee or Cohlee is a very good fish which is incredibly lean and is in many ways just like tuna but is a great deal cheaper than tuna.

Yes I'm on Multi Vitamins through my Gp Ive had to take them for almost yr due to my bloods not being what they should (arthritis). With the Vits a few of Gp's all said that I should take them atleast 90mins - 3hrs before having my first Xen of the day. If not then the vit suppliments will pass through and down the loo.
