    Smile New to Xenical

    Just wanted to say hi!

I started taking xenical 3 weeks ago and have lost 8lb which I'm very happy with. To be honest there's been none of the dreaded side effects as I'm keeping below the 5g fat rule. This forum is a god send I've been lurking for a while before plucking up the courage to see the dr. I have a lot of weight to lose, around 8 stone. I managed 1.5 stone on my own before starting on these but I would like to start a family next year so time is against me.

What does everyone do for breakfast I've been having shredded wheat as I have to eat it at work but its getting boring now and I could do with some ideas? Thanks guys

Try having eggs poached in the microwave only take 90 seconds - slice of unbuttered toast?

Plastic small bowl, add warm water drop vinegar microwave for 1 min and then 30 seconds more drain ... Lovely

Yogurt with fruit? Porridge with berries ? Be good to yourself bacon medallions from sainsbury/ turkey rashers with cherry tomatoes?

I've been having cereal or porridge mostly. This morning I got two chocolate weetabix (the large not the mini) and microwaved 150ml of semi skimmed milk and poured it over. It turns in to a lovely hot chocolatey mush, sounds awful but I love it. That comes in at 216 calories and 4g of fat, I take Alli which is a little more forgiving that Xenical but think that would fit both plans.

At weekends I will sometimes have wholemeal toast and sugar free jam (no butter just jam) which is something I also sometimes have if I am really craving a sweet treat like chocolate, the sweetness of the jam seems to deal with that craving really well for me.

And well done on your loss so far!

I'm here to say Hi, too. Starting Xenical today! Bit worried as I haven't been told too much about what to eat!!! Dr said low fat, plenty of fruit and veg and exercise. Have done some research and it sounds about right. Lots of helpful info here so I am feeling happier now.

I'm feeling great! 1 stone off in a month. I'm sticking religiously to the 5g fat rule and its working. Tbh I've sometimes even forgot to take them but I'm so motivated at the moment to shift this weight, the willpower is seeing me through. I'm going to furteventura in October with Ryan air am absolutely dreading fitting in the seat! We are sitting in an aisle seat too so can't get an extender which I had to do last year ( mortified). But I'm already over 2 stone lighter and am hoping to shift at least another before that. I'm a nervous flyer anyway so this has given me the kick up the butt I needed to start sorting myself out now.

Hi & welcome! Breakfast for me is bacon medallions mushrooms egg fried in fry light & a slice of toast. Sometimes beans or tinned toms on toast. I never used to eat breakfast but wouldn't manage without now, that was one of the biggest changes for me with all this. Good luck with your journey x

Just an update from me- I've now lost 1st 4lb since end of July. Due to a family emergency I didn't take the tablets for one whole week and put on a lb which I can live with but am now firmly back on track. Holiday in 3 weeks, looking forward to it but dreading the flight and airplane seat. But I am 2st 5lb lighter since my last flight so am hopeful I will be more comfortable!

I have been taking the tablets since last week and have tried to keep within rule but I haven't lost any weight and really downhearted now as you all seem to be doing really well.

Hiya. Sorry to hear you're disheartened. How many calories are you eating? If you give us an idea of what you're eatimg we may be able to give a few pointers. cc
