What do you mean it "stopped working"? Were you eating a healthy, low fat, low calorie diet and not losing any weight? Just because you don't get side effects when you eat rubbish doesn't mean it won't work if you eat how they advise you to. I could eat practically whatever I like without getting side effects, but have still lost 10 stone. :) xx

My last 2 weigh ins i stayed the same still eating very low fat and low calorie etc..I igive up doc said ivegot to stop anyway after 6 months so dunno what to do. I know the weight will go on.

Hi Moonlite, Wouldn't it be far better to concentrate on eating healthily and sticking to a calorie counting diet than rely on pills in the first place?.. after all once the weight has gone you will then have to train yourself to eat properly anyway.
There's plenty of people on here that are ready and willing to advise and support you thro' it all as you may already know and we all struggle at times as well. Believe me if I can lose weight at my old age then so can you my dear!

Why don't you start a new diary as you did one before but have stopped posting to it... that's the best way for us to find you to give you the support and encouragement and we can then see how you are progressing too.

All the very best to you and I'll be watching to see your progress. :)

Actually I believe you can take them for up to two years. How many calories are you eating a day? That's the crux of it really, the pills only give a tiny boost to losses, fairly negligible really, most of it is down to what you do with your nutrition. I think getting Orlistat and being monitored for a while by my GP just gave me the boost I needed to get off my bum and do something about the extra 10 stone I'd accumulated, then I just carried it on by myself with calorie counting until I got to goal. :) xx

hi sorry Tracy for my ruseness yesterday bad day weldone on your weight loss though

Thanks, hon, I didn't read it as rudeness so much as despair, and I know how that feels. But the combination of Orlistat, calorie counting and Minimins has seen me practically halve my weight in the last couple of years, so I'm all in favour of that approach. But I do firmly believe it's far more to do with the CC and the forum than it is the pills, you just have to find what works for you. As a middle aged old crock, with more health issues than I care to think about, I can honestly say that if I can do it, anyone can, cliched as that sounds, lol. Good luck. :) xx

Aah, I think you need to up your calories - sounds like you're not eating enough so your body's put it's foot down, so to speak. I'd up it to 1,500 at the very least. :) xx

And as an OAP..80 in August and scores of health issues too I second that with honours!! :D

Glad you're feeling a bit more upbeat today Moonlite..
I think you're right about the not wanting to pay for it aspect. I just had an op where the minimal amount of local anesthetic was used and not a nice experience I can tell you!!
