The prescription is in my hand...

    Hi Everyone

I went to my doctors yesterday to discuss combining SW with xenical, and she was absolutely rubbish.

So, I need some advice please.

I have been following SW for the last couple of years and have lost 4.5 stones so far with another 6 stones to lose.

I want children soon and want something to help me with my weight loss for the next few months just so we can at least start trying in the new year.

Should I, or should I not?

I'm really confused and don't know what to do

    Rozie.

    hi Rozie,

my doctor prescribed me xenical last year, I lost tons of weight on it but because I didn't learn to control my eating habits I piled it all back on when I stopped.

xenical plus sw is a good combination as the tablets will be boosting your losses whilst sw teaches you good eating habits for life.

Just my opinion. ... Hope it helps x

    Hi

Thank you for that. I really appreciate you taking the time out to reply.

Do you mind me asking how much you lost and in what time frame?

I lost about 40lbs in 3 months. ...I was eating total crap though. ... Take aways, chocolate, cake... you name it I ate it! !!

Then I stopped taking the pills and carried on eating crap. ... That's why I'm back here again! !!

I need to learn how to eat sensibly to keep it off. ...I saw the pills as a way to eat and still lose. ... I think with more support than just a prescription from the doctors or the help of sw I would have lost quicker and kept it off. ....

wow 40 lbs in 3 months is amazing.

I'm not wanting to use xenical for long. just want to get to 16 stones and feel comfortable with TTC and then continue with sw alone. SW has taught me very good eating habits.

did you have any of the nasty side effects?

Hi Rozie! As you may recall, I've lost 10.5 stone over a 2.5 year period, and I took Xenical for around 2 years of that time. The thing with Xenical is that it helps you make better food choices, to avoid the side effects. I only had bad side effects once, which was after an unplanned trip to Pizza Hut one Christmas - I knew it would happen, and it did, lol.

I couldn't say how much extra weight I lost because if the pills - not much, probably - but they can definitely be a useful tool. I did develop gallstones after taking them, but that often happens with any sort of large weight loss, so I can't definitely blame it on the Xenical, though I believe it is a known issue. On the whole, I don't regret taking them at all. xx

Thanks Tracy, was hoping you would see this.

I think I will take them. Will see how I feel for a month. She's only given me a months prescription anyway.

I don't want to substitute SW for xenical.. I just want extra lbs losses every week...

I would certainly give them a try. As I said, it's hard to say how much they contributed to my losses, but they certainly help focus the mind, because you can't eat anything high fat without paying the price! xx

thank you Tracy. I'll pick up the prescription in a day or so. Plan my meals to make sure I keep an eye on the fat content and then start on Monday.
