My new way of eating!

I have previously done slimming world on and off and always though of it to be a pretty healthy way of eating. (no sugars, low fat etc) but now I have a new challenge to start CrossFit training.

"eating clean" is to play a major part in my success with this and so I thought I would post my eating plan on here in hope of some advice! It all started this morning so wish me luck

B - 3 boiled eggs & honeydew melon

L - rocket & spinach. Carrot and tomatoe with tuna. Dressed in olive oil and lemon juice

I will post dinner later on..

I'm also trying o do 'clean eating'. I think it's best! What do you do about alcohol?

I haven't ad to do anything about it yet as I only started today! Haha

I am just going to restrict myself where possible? What are your plans?

Good luck ...but you won't need luck as its truly amazing x

Found your thread. Day one!

Just played 5 a side footy for an hour, I was expecting to feel like no energy but seemed ok.

Going to the supermarket now for some dinner but I need inspiration..

If you get in touch with Mary (Gettingfit) I'm sure she'll be happy to send you some ebooks for recipe inspiration. Really is so much you CAN eat.

Ok s I got home with some lamb cutlets and eg for my tea and the other half has ordered me Chinese! I have no will power and obvs it would b a waste of money not to eat it!

Ahh crap, try again tomorrow! I'm sooo weak! Lol

Just popping in to say hi! and good luck on your journey. Check out marksdailyapple.com for some great resources and advice.

Personalky, i wouldnt start again tomorrow - you're never going to be perfect and you have what looks like a very healthy three quarters of the day :) pat yourself on the back for doing most of the day brilliantly, enjoy your Chinese tonight and continue on your journey tomorrow. :)

Thanks Phoenix,

I will do just that! I am going to have to prepare tomorrows food tonight as I a travelling to London and back FTP see a couple of clients so the most of the day spent in the car!!

I'm going to boil some eggs and make a rocket, spinach & egg salad for lunch.

Can we eat sausages and Italian style meats pepperoni etc with the primal? I'm starting to get confused already, so many different things to read! I have picked up some coconut milk from supermarket but think its gonna be wrong reading about people buying from health shops

Depends what they have in them. Ideally all meats should be free range / free to roam and if beef then grass fed. The ingredients shouldn't contain grains (eg wheat) or legumes (eg soya) or sugar (eg dextrose). The ingredients should be meat and possibly nitrates (used as preservatives, how bad these are for you is debatable, but it's really really hard to find shop bought processed meats without them in - the butchers might be your best bet). Watch out for shop bought slices of roast chicken - I was shocked to find they all had sugar in!!!

As I said, this is ideal, and most of us compromise to some extent. How much is up to you, but the cleaner your diet in the beginning the easier it is. Even mark sissons (primal blueprint author) has sugar in his coffee from time to time. It's about limits, what you can tolerate, and what works for you. Far better to eat some decent free range saussies with some preservative than a macdonalds burger with bun and fries coz you got over hungry!

Well done on such amazing planning!

Thanks for the info, I'm on a long learning curve, having done SW in the past this is really strange adapting to this. The meat side of things is similar but it was always lean meat so no fat. I think that's the hardest thing that I am having to learn! Fat is ok to eat!!

Fat is fab to eat! I can't believe I took the skin off chicken, bought tuna in springwater and ate low fat greek yoghurt for so long! The flavours are do much better with more fat!

Ok left the house at 5:45am this morning to get to London for my appointments. Had some cherries and grapes for breakky and stopped for a coffee on the way.

If having a coffee should I be going with full fat milk or cream as opposed to skimmed milk? Old habits die hard!

Hi Hun you need to be having cream or coconut milk in your coffee x have you got mark Sissons primal blueprint book it's fab and really explains everything x

It's a almost complete reeducation on the way we eat. I'm so glad though as I've always loved the more fatty meats (lamb, duck, chicken thighs and skin). Even though I'm losing weight I still have to remind myself that it's ok to eat this stuff. I guess thinking about it logically though I do probably eat more veg and fruit in a day than many people eat in a week. And my diet contains absolutely no sugar other than what is in the fruit. It takes a while to adjust to it all. Stick with it and you won't be sorry.

I haven't got that as yet however I will do and will read it!

I am still driving home from London at the min and craving my lamb chops! Manage the afternoon on a few walnuts as snacks! Had to stop at the services as I have drank enough water to sink a battle ship today! (too much info I know!)

Waw that was a long day! Got home dropped my bags, straight to the kitchen, made lamb chops with asparagus fried in olive oil, lemon juice and black pepper and served with a rocket, tomato, carrot and cucumber salad. Awesome!!

Feeling a little cleaner already! Not sure how to describe it, prob a mental thing more than anything!

Ok do breakfast consists of 3 boiled eggs with some cured Italian meats! Only thing I had in Ye fridge but really enjoyed. Although they are prob not what I should be eating! Doh! I really need to take the time out to plan ahead for next week properly
