Thanks - I now know how to explain when people dismiss my diet as Atkins (which I have no idea of or ever read about, apart from the founder dying obese at a rather young age).

Not exactly. In fact, Dr Atkins was way ahead of his time in understanding that grains cause obesity and that fat isn't a bad thing. And he didn't die obese. See: How Did Atkins Die - Death Of Dr. Robert Atkins

Maybe if he'd lived a little longer he'd have endorsed Paleo/Primal.

Lost 5 and a half stones between October 2007 and April 2008 (doing Cambridge Diet). Unfortunately, many of the f*@!*#! found me again.

Apologies - just remembered I was thinking of the guy who started that company - I forget the name, the one that recruits sellers - oh is it green something ??
Anyway, sorry for the mistake it was genuine.
All of the fake sugar, low carb flour etc is what puts me off Atkins - people have turned it into something that allows them to eat processed low carb versions of food and it's probably a long way from the original intentions of the plan. Whilst people may loose weight eating this way, I'd be worried about insulin response over time.

Oh, completely agree with you there. Frankenfoods, as a low carb forum I used to belong to called them.

That's why I'm firmly convinced Paleo/Primal is the way to go in the long run.
