    Apple sauce question

    Hi all

I'm really trying to move towards clean eating and I've been looking at recipes and apple sauce is something used a lot. This may be a stupid question but is this something you buy or homemade? If you can buy it what brands are ok?

I'm really hoping by changing my eating it will help relieve my Ibs symptoms

    Thanks

If it's in American recipes then it's referring to unsweetened applesauce made from dessert (NOT cooking) apples. In the States they can buy it in big jars but it's easy to make too.

I don't use a recipe, just peel/core/chop the apples, put in a saucepan with a little splash of water, cover and cook gently until tender enough to mash. I'm sure googling homemade unsweetened applesauce recipes would come up with something more precise.

(edit: oh you could use those little jars of puréed apple for children but they're not cheap and some have preservatives)
