Hi everyone need your help. I've been looking into the Paleo way of eating and needed some tips on where to start.
I've not got any books yet? Any recommendations? just need some help and motivation to set me on my way.
Thanks

Hi Sabz!

I got to know paleo through my work.

There are so many resources and recipes out there - just google Paleo! So much will come up!

I've been doing paleo since 1st January and have lost 12lbs so far! But I'm eating so much! It's just so great! :)

You can always ask questions here and we will help where we can!

Good luck!

That's brill cavegirl13... With me it's more about losing weight as I have huge amounts to lose.

19JB87 - thanks for your reply I really appreciate it and 12lb in more or less 2weeks is brilliant.
Can you notice a difference?
Also plse can you tell me what a typical days menu is for you so I can get a rough idea..it will be a great help to me.

I have a diet diary (link in my signature) - I've got my meals & things in there - hopefully it'll give you some idea of what sort of thing we do from day to day!

I find the fun thing to do is experiment in the kitchen! :)

Do you have anyone at home who is doing it with you?

I have noticed a huge difference, actually - my energy levels haven't been this high in ages! I do have more to lose than a lot of people, but I don't want to stress over it - the main thing is that my weight is heading in the right direction!

Hi,I will have a look at ur diary entry hopefully will help as today I've just had eggs.

No one else at home is overweight it's just me.So im on my own with this eating plan.

I'm the youngest of 5 and always been spoilt so I've been overweight since childhood. Eating everything I want...but now I'm fed up 30years later lol

I just hope I can stick to it as I really need to lose the weight...but keeping away from chocolate and crisps me bread is difficult especially when I run a off licence and this food is infront of me every second of the day.

Thanks for that think I might write it and stick it somewhere.
The wispa bar has been calling out to me since I got in this morning but had a cup of green tea instead :)

I've opted for primal precisely because other plans "allow" me to justify eating bread, crisps, chocolate etc. By choosing a plan that excludes these things the theory is that in time they wont bother me. After all a vegetarian chooses not to eat meat and wouldn't have a bacon sandwich just because they work in a cafe, even if nothing else was available - it just comes down to personal belief. Once we believe that primal/paleo is the best way to eat then it's much easier to shun the other food - I've not had rice or pasta in ages now, last time I did I got stomach cramps, I had bread over Xmas and it just confirmed that it isn't good for me - bloated massively & felt ill. Most people adapt it to "fit" there own needs - for me I have 2 tbsp oats once or twice a week, others have dairy but it's a good template to base your life eating on.
I've lost over 60lb so far and whilst most of it was with Slimming World, I did it online and was always low refined carbs, no biscuits etc and I never bought into the whole processed foods that they laud you to eat freely - I know it works for some people but doesn't for me - so I always eating semi primal. Good Luck with your journey - if I can do it, anyone can.

That was truly inspiring. Congratulations on your weight loss.
Well it's over a week now and I've not touched choc, crisps or cakes and sweets and not even a sip of fizzy drinks (used to have 6-8 cans of diet coke a day) and I feel great!!! Don't even feel like eating them.its a weird feeling ...a good weird feeling ;-)
