I don't have kids myself but Everyday Paleo and Eat Like A Dinosaur are two books full of advice about feeding little ones (I have the 2nd book by Everyday Paleo on order but can't comment yet as it hasn't arrived! 1st one has awful photos but good info). Maybe your library could get copies if you wanted to try before you buy?
There are also a lot of 'paleo mom' blogs that probably explore this subject.
My own personal feeling is that I believe paleo/primal is healthier so why wouldn't I want my (hypothetical) kids to benefit from that as well, but I have enough family/friends with little ones to fully appreciate that the phrase 'easier said than done' was coined for just such a scenario. ;)
