I've been counting calories for 3 weeks (weigh in tomorrow eek) and have naturally stopped eating a lot of processed foods and replaced them with fruit and veg.I stumbled across this part of the forum yesterday and this paleo thing sounds quite interesting but at this stage I'm not willing to cut out dairy and bread.Is there a modified version I could follow?I would love to try different grains such as quinoa-I just have no idea what to do with it.I have stopped buying crisps and chocolate and fizzy drinks for the most part.
I have lost weight in the past on the Cambridge diet which is low carb, and that seemed to suit me very well-just can't afford it now.
What's a good place to get some info on this diet/way of eating?What methods of cooking are allowed?What's a total no-no? It's all a bit overwhelming.

You're unlikely to find much support for eating bread (unless made with almond flour or similar) on either primal or paleo, but primal is more forgiving about dairy. I would second the vote for Marks Daily Apple - a lot of info, but worth reading the summary pages at least to see if that whets your appetite for more.
